Chapter 5 Clues

After we finished eating our pancakes I told Jace to head up stairs to start his shower while I stayed back to clean up our plates. After I finished I started to walk down the hall to go up to the room, I walked by the front door when a letter was slipped in. I picked it up and read the front. It was addressed to me so I ripped open the envelope and started to read.

Clarissa Fray,
Take this as your first and final warning.
Stay out of the way or I will kill you.
And everyone you have ever loved.

My heart dropped as I read the last sentence over and over in my head. I tried to make sense of the whole letter as to what I did to have someone want to kill me, and my loved ones. Then I remembered, the dream, the nightmare, it was all apart of this warning. Someone must have planted that dream in my head to scare me away, but why?
I crumpled the letter in my hand and ran to Jace's room as fast as I could. I banged on the washroom door where he was take a shower, washing off our flour fight from this mornings breakfast. When he final opened the door and I practically jumped in to his arms almost in tears.
"What is it? Whats wrong?"
I showed him the crumpled letter in my hand and slowly made my way to the floor very weak. I sat with my knees pulled up to my chest with my arms hugging them. Jace read the letter and Immediately put his arms around me hugging me to make sure I knew I was safe. We sat silently together on the floor for a few minutes until he finally said something.
"You do know that as long as I'm with you your going to be safe, and we will find who ever this is." He said very angry. " I know, I love you so much, but my dream last night wasn't a dream. It was apart of this warning, someone planted that in my head! Jace I'm so scared they said that if I don't stay out of their way they would kill you and everyone else I love. Jace I can't let that happen! I'm to dangerous to be around!" I told him as I started to cry.
"I have to leave, I can't be here I'm endangering everyone at the Institute!"

"Clary where is this all coming from? Your not endangering anyone, we are all shadow hunters here, a little warning is nothing to be afraid of. We will all protect you. I will protect you."

"Your right I don't know what came over me, I have the little training that I have learned with you and it's not like I haven't fought a demon before either, so a person is nothing. It's just that dream or what ever it was must still have me spooked."

"Well you don't need to worry, I'm here with you. And I will never let anyone hurt you." he said and gently placed his lips on mine and cupped his hand on the side of my face bring me closer to him. Next thing I knew we were no longer on the floor but on the bed, as our kissing slowly became more aggressive.
