The Mortal Instruments: In Another Life

Chapter 15 Session one

My alarm went off at 7:00 am sharp. I felt my way around my nightstand trying to turn off the ear piercing sound, refusing to open my eyes. Finally I hit the alarm and it stopped, I slowly opened my eyes to see my room still dark. I did one of those really ugly stretches taking up the whole bed before I rolled out. I placed my feet on the cold wooden floor sending a shiver up my legs and spreading across my body. I walked over to my bathroom and turned on the shower letting water run for a bit for it to warm up before I got in. I undressed and stepped into the steaming shower, I stood there under the running water just letting it run down my body. After I finished I got dresses and put a little make up on just to touch up my look. I opened the door and walked out into the hallway, walking towards the library.

"Good morning love, are you ready to get to work?" Brian's asked as I walked through the library door. "Ready as I'll ever be." I replied back with a small yawn. "Good, the sooner we get this done the fast we can go back to bed. I'm still mentally in my teen years, even though those days have be over for two years now." he said with a small laugh.
"If you want to sleep in why did we do this so early?" I asked very confused. "Because your brain is not use to thinking just yet, so what ever is lingering around your mind is important." he said dabbing his index and middle fingers of both hands in a bowl of ashes. "Now are you ready?" he asked one last time.

"Yes. But will it hurt?"

"Everyone is different, it may hurt a little or a lot. It depends on how your mind functions. Now just relax." He said as he started to place his two fingers on the temples of my head on either side.
Next think I knew I was taken back in my memory's. Just a rush of flash back all at once pounding my mined like a brick to a wall. I could feel the room spinning and my nails digging into the arm rest of the chair I was sitting in. Then black.
A small image appeared in the darkness, a little glow of a light as it got closer and closer. Just as the light got close enough to see what it was it flashed before me and I was back in the library with Brian. I released my nails from the arm rest and stand up slowly. "Well.. that wasn't to bad." I said sarcastically. "Well I told you this wasn't going to be easy." he said smiling. I tried to walk over to the table where I left my book from yesterday, but when I took a step my legs gave out leaving me plugging to the ground. I suddenly felt arms wrapped around me holding my body up, and I look to see Brian right there holding me with all his strength making sure I didn't fall. Just then the door flung open and Jace walked in seeing Brian and I still in the position he caught me.
"If your going to do that then at least get a room first." was all he said walked over to a book shelf furthest away from us. Brian and I quickly stumbled and stood up beside each other awkwardly.
"Ugh, Jace, it's not what you think it is, I just finished the procedure and her legs gave out so I caught her." he said sincerely. " I feel like we got off on the wrong foot, I would love it if we could start over?" Brian said holding out his hand with a smile. Jace walked up to him with his hand held out still and said, " I am not very fond of you, and I don't like how you are always smiling. No one is that happy all the time." and he took his book and walked out the door.
"Well that went well don't you think." Brian said turning to face me. "Just give him some time to warm up to you. He probably feels like he has to compleat with you, which I'm not sure why, considering he is my boyfriend," well I think, at this point I'm not to sure. I thought, "He can be pretty stupid some times." I finished with a smile on my face.
"Well I hope your right love." he said with a small smile. "Anyways you did a wonderful job for the first session, just a few more after and you'll be done. In the mean time I'm going to go back to bed and get a little more shut eye so I will see you later." he said starting to walk out the door. "Alright, that sounds good to me I think I will do the same." I said smiling and walking out the door with him on the way to our rooms.
