I turn the handle well into the red section that signifies heat, and draw the curtain. I step into the tub and the heat rains down on my, turning me skin a bright red. My hand comes away tingling after an encounter with the water. I let it run hotter still, and breathe in the steam. The heat cleanses me of more than just dirt, it scorches away the ugliness, the scars, the misery. The steam fills my mind and chases out any anxiety, depression, or bad thoughts. The water runs into the drain, and with it, all my woes and fears.
