Yungi (pt. 2)...

Seonghwa's pov:

"Finally you're back. What took you so long Mingi?" San asked. 

Mingi looked at everyone before saying anything. He was holding something behind his back. "I was waiting for this day for way too long, maybe since almost an year. Y'all please let me speak my heart out." he said calmly.

Hongjoong nodded understandingly, "That's what we are going to do tonight Mingi, don't worry. No one is going to judge or stop you. Go ahead." he answered.

Mingi looked at everyone once again. A look of awkwardness could be seen on his face.

"It's okay Mingi, whatever you're going to say.... It's okay. We won't say anything." I assured him one more time. He silently nodded.

Mingi's pov:

I looked at everyone. They were my family. My only family. My beautiful family.

Since I was a child, I never felt loved or attached to anyone. Both my parents were workaholics... That meant, I spent my entire childhood in baby day care and my middle school in boarding school.

My parents never had time for me. Actually no one ever had time for me. I did have some friends, who I later learned were after my money. I wasn't very rich or something, but my dad was a lawyer and my mom a bank manager. So we were pretty well off.

I loved my parents, I really did. But never felt attached to them. They gave me everything I wanted.... Except their time.

This feeling of emptiness and loneliness was bottled up within me for years since childhood....until I completed middle school and enrolled in a popular dance academy.

I was fond of dancing. It distracted me from all the sadness.

There I met this guy - Jeong Yunho. Forever happy and energetic. Full of enthusiasm and who always had a smile on his face.

"Wow, you're almost as tall as me!" was his first sentence to me. "Also, hi! I'm Yunho! Let's be friends."

He had many friends in the academy which made me feel awkward and left out initially as I was quiet.

But one fine day, I talked to him about how left out I felt and he just laughed.
"Mingi, no matter how many friends I make, I just have one best friend and that's you. It'll never change!"

Since that day, we've been best friends. But as time passed, I realized that I was in love with that boy. And I'm pretty sure, he likes me back. And today, I'm gonna confess.... Infront of everyone. Infront of my family.

I walked up to Yunho. "Get up." I said. He looked confused but got up.

I took a deep breath. Calm down Mingi, he likes you too. I told myself.

I got down on my knees. "What are you-" Yunho started "Shh" I cut him off.

I pulled out the golden diamond ring which I had kept hidden for almost six months now. Yunho looked even more confused now.

"Hear me out Jeong Yunho. I'm in love with you since we were together in the academy. You were my first best friend and I don't want to ruin our friendship. But I really like you. Please accept this." I held the ring.

His face was expression less. I waited for a while before speaking again,"I'm sorry if you don't feel the same way, but please let's be friends forever."

I held my head down, keeping the ring in my pocket. I was embarrassed.
I just wanted to disappear from there. Just run away.

I could feel everyone was staring at us in utter bewilderment. Actually not us, but me.

I got up, my head still down. So this is what rejection feels like.... I thought. I turned around silently to leave the room due to embarrassment.

The moment I turned from Yunho, someone hugged me tightly from behind. I looked down at the hands that were wrapped around my waist.

Yunho.

"We've been together for so many years and your dumbass still doesn't know I hate expensive gifts??" he said with a chuckle.

My body started shivering. It's the way my body reacts when I'm in shock. I turned around, completely surprised.

"You're my favorite person Mingi. I love you." Yunho said, hugging me tighter. I hugged him back still in shock.

"But promise me, no more expensive gifts. You could've just brought me a teddy bear and I would've been the happiest person, and you know that!"

I nodded.
"Next time. I promise."
Tears welled up in my eyes which I could control only for a while.

"There, there. You guys. I had a slight idea, but finally you confessed. I'm so happy!" Seonghwa hyung smiled at us.

I had completely forgotten that they were here too.

"How cute!" San said, with a big smile.

"Even your height matches haha our two pillars of Ateez" that brat, Jongho started laughing.

"Congrats you both, I had no idea!" Hongjoong added.

"Wow, so we have one more cute couple. WooSan.... You guys are not alone!" Yeosang said.

Everyone laughed.

"Three cheers for Yungi!"
"YAAAAAASSS"
Everyone lifted their glasses of juice and cheered.

Author : Hi guys. I need your comments today. I'm about to finish this book. However, I have yet to write about Hongjoong's past. So like I have two options for next chapter - Hongjoong's past or SeongSang (SeongSang will be the end in both cases anyway)
