I wasn't going to be held hostage in this room any longer. The door was locked, so if I wanted to get out, I had to find a key or something to pick the lock with. I got searching.

I dug through all the drawers in my room. There wasn't a key in any of them.

"Come on!" I whisper shouted at myself through tears. There HAD to be a key in here somewhere! Or at least something I could use to pick the lock.

I was losing hope that I'd ever find a way out of here.

I started sobbing again. All I wanted was to go to the town on the other side of the wall, see what it had to offer. Was it really that bad? Was it really bad enough to the point where my own mother would lock me in my own room! I kept looking out the window, trying to imagine what it looked like. Then, I got an idea. I would escape out the window! So I tugged and pulled, my hands burning from struggling, trying to open the window, but it was locked. My mom was good! She probably knew I was going to try to escape, so she locked every possible thing in my room.

Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw something glistening. I went over to see what it was. It was a paperclip.

"Thank you thank you thank you!" I muttered to myself.

I grabbed it and undid it into a straight line. Then I headed over to my door and started picking the lock. I had to be absolutely silent because I didn't want anyone in the castle to hear me. I bit my lips and stuck the paperclip in the lock. There was a clear glass pane on the top of my door that let me see out. I looked to my left slowly and saw a guard standing there. I quickly poked my head back in my room. I was NEVER going to get out if he was there watching me. He had to fall asleep somehow, or leave. But when would he? It seemed like he never would. So I stood by the door, waiting for him to leave.

~~~
I snapped myself out of my sleep and peeked out the clear glass pane to see if the guard was still there. He was still there, but he was out cold. When I looked out the window, it was still very dark outside. Upon seeing that, I concluded that it was still night. I took this as an opportunity to escape, since no one would be able to see me. I tiptoed over to my desk, grabbed the paperclip and started picking the lock. A few drops of the paperclip later, the door was unlocked. I slowly opened the door, making sure it didn't creak, squeak, or make any noise that would get me caught. I bit my lip and snuck past the guard. He flinched for a second and I flinched. Then, I ran.
I ran out of the palace and tried to keep quiet. If I got caught, this was it. This was all for nothing. I ran until I hit the wall that separated the two towns.
The wall was made of stone, and some of the bricks were sticking out, so I used them to help me get over it, since the gate had countless numbers of locks on it.
"Please no one catch me. Please no one catch me." I muttered under my breath.
I kept climbing, letting the bricks help me, until I finally reached the top. This was it. I was in the new town. I smiled knowing that I made it, but that smile soon faded when I heard someone walking behind me. My heart was thudding out of my chest and I continued running. The corset wasn't allowing me to run that well, since it was squeezing my side's so tightly. I held the edges of my dress and kept running, not looking behind me. I came to a railroad track. I ran through it and didn't stop. I thought I was going to collapse at any moment. That corset made me feel faint and the overwhelming emotions inside of me made me feel like I was going to faint to. The pounding of my heart was ringing in my ears as I kept on running. I tripped over my heels, which made running nearly impossible, and got mud all over my dress. Great. My mom was going to kill me! But I got up and kept running.
~~~

Minutes passed and I was still running. I felt sick and tired. But I didn't stop. If someone caught me, I'd be moving into the dungeon forever, THAT was a guarantee.

I kept on running.

Then, something happened. I tripped over a rock and saw nothing but black.

~~~
"Is she dead?" I heard a voice ask.
"I think she'll be fine." I heard another voice say.
"Who is she anyway? I've never seen her before!" I heard another voice say, a hint of anger in her voice.
I opened my eyes slowly. Everything was blurry and all sounds were muffled.
"Where....where am I?" I stuttered.
"It seems as if she's suffered a major hit to the head." I heard a voice say. "I'll take her to the doctor in the morning. She'll be fine."
Who were these people? I guess I'd find out in the morning. I needed rest. I had a long night of running and I, apparently, suffered a major hit to the head. I closed my eyes and fell asleep once more.
~~~

The next morning, I opened my eyes and everything was clear. I didn't have blurry vision anymore. The sun was a red ball of fire over the horizon that morning. I assumed it was no later than 7:00 AM here, since the sun wasn't fully up, or fully down.

I looked around me to see where I was and I was in a tent. I crawled out of it really slow, my hands and dress getting covered in mud. I looked around and saw a bunch of trees and tents. Then all of a sudden, a man approached me. I flinched and crawled back in the tent.

"Hey, there's no need to be afraid." A British man said, approaching me.

"Where......where am I?" I asked him.

"You're in the Merry Men's camp." He said.

"And who are you?" I asked him.

"Robin of Locksley, at your service." He said extending his hand out to me.

I hesitated, but shook it.

"Mackenzie." I said.

"Nice to meet you Mackenzie, let's go get you a new outfit. Also, let's get you cleaned up." The man named Robin said.

He extended his hand out to me and I grabbed it so he could pull me up. I stood up and shook off my dress.

"Come with me. I'll get you an outfit." He said. Then he lead me to a shop with outfits in it.
