Henry's house was very nice. I was very addicted to the way it looked and how nice it was. But, the tour was sadly over.
All the people I met yesterday decided to spend some time with me, get to know me. I was excited for that, since I loved making friends.
"Ok Mackenzie, I'm going to show you how to shoot a bow and arrow so that if you ever need to defend yourself, you can." Robin said. I was really excited for this lesson.
"Ok, so hold it like this." He said, showing me how to hold one. I held the bow in my hands, with him holding it so he could teach me.
I held it the way he told me to. Aiming it at a bullseye on a tree. His hands were holding part of the bow, teaching me how to hold it.
"Then, take the arrow and aim it at the center of the bullseye." He said again.
"Then....release!" Then he released the arrow and hit the center of the bullseye, perfectly. I never could do that, but I'm sure I could with some practice.
"Now you try by yourself." Robin said, handing the bow to me.
I started shaking out of nervousness. I've never shot a bow and arrow by myself before. But I was excited to try.
I held the bow the way he told me to, I put the arrow in, and I shot and hit the bullseye two rings away from the center. Not bad for my first try I'd say.
"Wow, Mackenzie that was really good for your first try!" Robin praised.
"Really?" I asked in astonishment.
"Yes. Now I planned something. I'll teach you how to shoot a bow and arrow everyday for 1 hour. How does that sound?" Robin asked.
"Um..." I had to think. Did I want to learn how to defend myself? Heck yeah! "Yeah that would be great! I've always wanted to learn how to defend myself!"
"Great, then we'll practice everyday!" He said and held out his hand for me to shake it.
"Everyday it is!" I said, shaking his hand.

Henry invited me over later on today. He wanted to connect on a more personal level. I was excited because I have an opportunity to get to know him and I get to hopefully see what's in that book he has.
"So....what do you want to talk about?" I asked him.
"Well, I brought you here so that I could tell you a little more about myself. And maybe I could get to know a little bit about you! Don't get the message that I like you...you know...like you like you. I just want to be your friend. So, I'll start. I like hot cocoa with cinnamon. Now you. Where are you from?" For some reason, a small part of me felt disappointed that he didn't like me in that way, but I didn't have time for that kind of stuff right now.
"Um...I'm Mackenzie and I live in a palace on the other side of the wall." I said.
"Well, I have two moms, you already knew that, and I like watching tv, playing video games, and reading." He said.
"Well, let me just say everything all at once. I have a cruel mom that has nothing but horrible things to say about this town and the people in it. I'm an only child. I don't have a dad. He died of a deadly disease. I love exploring, learning, and adventure. I think that's enough." I said.
"I'm sorry about your dad." Henry said sadly. "My dad's dead too."
"Really? I'm so sorry!" I said sadly.
"Yeah, he died saving me and my family. He died a hero and I thank him for it. He had to do what he had to do." Henry said, having a sad flashback.
"My mom told me that my dad had a disease called scarlet fever. He died soon after I was born. I never got to meet him, but I have a picture of him in my locket." I said sadly, showing Henry my locket.
He stared at it for a minute and then looked away. He must've been upset thinking about his dad, so I shut my locket and waited for him to ask another question about me.
"What's your last name?" He asked.
"De Ville." I said. He didn't respond for a few seconds. He looked like he just discovered something.
"Can I......show you something?" Henry said, sounding a little scared.
"Um....sure." I said confused and nervous.
He looked at me for a second and then grabbed the brown book I wanted to look at out from under his bed.
"This book, is a book of fairytales. But not just any fairytales." He looked around, then back at me. "If I tell you this, you have to promise not to tell anyone."
"I won't tell a soul." I said, anxious to see what was in that book.
"Everyone in this town is a fairytale character. Every single person. This might sound crazy but.....so are you." I looked at him dumbfounded.
"I'm.....I'm a fairytale character?" I asked, stuttering.
"Look." He said, opening up the book. When he opened it, I saw the Robin in there.
"That's Robin! He helped me shoot a bow and arrow!" I said.
"Yeah. It is. Have you heard of the story of Robin Hood? The man who stole from the rich to give to the poor?" He asked..
"Yeah......" I said, wondering where this conservation was going.
"Well, that's him. He's Robin Hood of Locksley." Henry stated.
I sat there on his bed, trying to evaluate all of this. Was this real? I was dreaming. They're not fairytale characters.
He showed me all other fairytale characters and they were all people I met a day ago!
"Here you are." Henry pointed to a baby in a woman's arms in the book.
"That's.....me?" I asked.
"Yes and this woman....is your mom." He said.
"Have you heard about that evil woman named Cruella De Ville who stole all those Dalmations?" Henry asked.
"Yeah....." Wait, was she......?
"She's.....your mother." He said.
"WHAT!? This evil woman is my mother!?" I whisper shouted.
"Yes. She is planning something dangerous. It says here in the book that her daughter, when born, will be born into the town on the other side of the wall and eventually find this place. Then, she will save us all." Henry said.
This all was too much for me to take in.
"That's my fate?" I asked him.
"Yes. So be prepared." Henry said.
I couldn't believe it. My mom was Cruella De Ville.
