My mom.

"Mom?" I asked.

"I have to tell you something." She replied.

"I don't want to hear it mom. You ruined my life. You killed my father." I said.

"That's why I'm here." She said. Inching closer to the bench.

"STOP MOM!!! GO AWAY!!!" I yelled.

"Not until I tell you why I did it." She said.

"Did what? Kill my father?" I asked impatiently.

"Yes." Then, she sat down next to me. I scooted over to the left, making a gap between us.

"Your father was a man of selfishness. He said he loved me, he said I was his one and only, and he said I was perfect. Then, on the day you were supposed to be born, he lured me over to this town to make me give birth to you. He wanted you to be born here so that you didn't know me. He thought he was so tricky. That night, he ripped my heart to shreds. He yelled at me, screamed at me, picked up a vase and threw it at me, and he threatened to kill me. So I killed him. I put him in a choke hold using my magic and killed him. Then, I felt a overwhelmed with guilt. I realized you would grow up without a dad. But at the same time, I felt like I did the right thing. You didn't deserve a father like him. I killed him because I love you Mackenzie. I love you so much and I didn't want you to grow up not knowing who your biological mother is. All I'm trying to say is, I love you. And since I love you so much, I'm going to do this."

She stood up, faced me and waved her hand over her body.

"Mom, what are you doing?" I asked a little scared.

"Giving you the life you deserve." She said.

I still didn't understand.

"I'm going to die for you." She said.

Tears started to form in my eyes.

"Wait, what?" I asked.

"I'm not a good influence on you. I'm not the right mother for you. I'm holding you back from your life. Go live it!" She said.

"No! Please don't do this!" I said crying. "I didn't mean anything I said to you back there. I really didn't! Please stay with me!"

"I want to." She said, starting to cry. "I really want to. But I'm doing this to benefit you!"

The smoke cloud around her started to cover her face.

"You're so special and beautiful. Never let anyone ever tell you different!" She said, crying now. "Being the savior is a blessing. Don't ever let anyone tell you it's not."

"Mom, NO!!!! DON'T GO!!!" I said, crying harder than I ever have in my entire life.

"I have to." She said, still crying. "I love you!"

And with that, she was gone.

"No, NO!!!! MOMMY!!! MOMMY COME BACK!!!" I yelled, tears streaming down my face.

Then, I dropped to the floor on my knees and cried even harder.

"I love you Mommy."
