idk lol just random things I think Spinel would do or be like possibly.
I'll probably have a lot of other people's headcannons on here too, cause well some are just too good. Will probably be mostly cute fluff stuff but there will be occasional angs...
When she's upset, angry, or even anxious while alone, she sometimes yanks her pigtails, constricts herself within her own limbs, scratches at herself, or jabs herself with various objects in an attempt to distract herself from what she's feeling. She doesn't quite understand how harmful her coping mechanism is, making it more difficult for Steven to help her with stopping her habit.
Steven came home once to find her hiding in his bedroom closet, she had found his pencils and she was near poofing, a pencil sticking out of her left cheek while others were scattered about through her limbs and hands, she did end up poofing though when she became more upset when she felt ashamed of herself for doing such a thing. Steven has had to literally child safety lock cupboards and drawers just to keep her from finding something like a knife. When her harming doesn't help calm herself down, she'll usually have a meltdown or panic attack, sometimes leading to herself poofing from it.
Steven one time tried bringing her with him on one of the times they were working on little homeworld, worried about leaving her alone. He was also worried they'd accidentally get separated, as Spinel seemed to have a problem with losing Steven there, making Steven put a child harness/leash on her to make sure she was in his sight. Spinel didn't hate it, but she also didn't like not being able to wander freely, only being able to go as far as the leash would let her, going only a few feet. She does feel a little embarrassed about it due to Amethyst and Peridot laughing a bit about it, but they only did really because it reminded them of when Peridot had one, not exactly meaning to sound as if they were making fun of her, but Spinel's mind would still lead her to that conclusion, which would make her beg for Steven to not make her wear it when they went out to little homeworld other times.
Spinel still struggles with her self harming issues, not being able to go twenty minutes without doing so, but she's getting better, she's not poofing as much.
