I'll probably have a lot of other people's headcannons on here too, cause well some are just too good. Will probably be mostly cute fluff stuff but there will be occasional angs...
Although she probably wouldn't admit it, and that she really did hate being abandoned and stuck in the garden for so long, she was still a little glad to not be present during the gem war, as all the terrible stories made it sound terrifying, scaring her a little just thinking about what it was like being there when it happened.
She hated the thought of watching her friends getting hurt around her as she fought for her own life as well, having to poof and possibly shatter other gems and watch others get shattered, it made her squeamish just thinking about it.
She also was terrified at the concept of corruption, she didn't like the thought of watching her friends lose themselves but even more, she was scared that if she was there that she would of gotten corrupted and left to suffer for thousands of years, not remembering what even happened during that time when getting healed, if she'd even get to be healed. She also didn't like the idea of losing control of herself, not knowing who she was hurting or even how many she hurt during that time of being corrupted. She'd sometimes have nightmares of getting corrupted and attacking the gems, and hurting Steven, having to watch herself hurt those she cared about, only waking up when she was poofed by one of the diamonds in her dream, stopping her rampage.
At one point she had a panic attack afterwards, harming herself after she wandered around in the dark, stumbling down the stairs out of Steven's room. The loud thump and crashing sounds waking and scaring the hell out of Steven, literally making him jump out of bed and ready his shield as if they were under attack. He turned the light on in his room, discovering Spinel was missing and that her covers were flung out across the floor, like she had gotten up in a hurry. He quickly rushed down stairs, finding Spinel lying at the bottom, scratched up and bruised, curled up with her arms wrapped around herself and hunched over, tears streaming down her face as she was hurting from the initial fall and being upset by her dream, crying quietly.
