Harry's pov
We had headed out when y/n and Hermione decided to quickly run back to the girls dorms to get something. They said it was for the potion but I wasn't too sure when I saw Hermione's face, she was rubbish when it came to lying."I guess it's just you and me now" Ron shrugged awkwardly, walking next to me.
"So, what do you wanna do this period?" He continued. "What are you talking about?" I questioned him.
Ron merely shrugged and looked at me, puzzled by my question.
"We have transfiguration next?" I said in a dull tone. "Oh right!" He exclaims, slapping his hand to his face.
"Well in that case, I've got to go, see ya Harry!" He says sheepishly, quickly turning the other direction, most likely off to the dorms where his books are.
I sighed and walked by myself down the corridor. 'Why do they all think I'm the heir? I haven't done anything' i said out loud, my mind trailing off into thought as well as trying to convince myself all these rumours were lies.
I continued to walk down the empty corridor when I was knocked back by something.
"Oh! Er, sorry about that" boomed a voice, it was Hagrid.
"It's all right Hagrid, don't worry" I said, clutching my butt and dusting off my robes. I groaned in pain as my lower backed started to sting madly, already swelling up.
"Are you sure there? Oh- Harry! So glad to see you. Also, sorry 'bout that, don't know me own strength" Hagrid chuckles, examining my face.
"Are ye sure yere Alright there, 'arry?" The friendly giant questioned, looking at my hands that were now messaging my spine.
"Oh yes, perfectly fine. Just a little bruise, Nothing I can't handle" I said more to myself then him through clenched teeth. Hagrid looked at me uncertain of my reply but carried on.
"Wait! Hagrid! Why do you have a dead rooster with you?" I questioned, seeing a large bird swinging left and right behind Hagrid's back as he walked. "Oh this?" He said calmly, wiping some snow from his thick beard.
"Second one killed this past week! Don't know if it's a fox or a bugbear, but either way, I need permission from o' headmaster to put a protection charm on the bloody cages" Hagrid ranted, not noticing that I had began to turn away.
"Sounds very frustrating Hagrid, I give my greatest sympathy to you and your um, birds" I said, uninterested. He nodded back, rocking on his heels.
"Well I better get going. Classes start soon and I don't feel like being late. See you Hagrid" I smiled widely. "Yeah, I guess I better go as well, see Dumbledore and all" Hagrid chuckled, returning my grin.
We started off on our own ways as I turned the corner, him no longer seeing me.
I walked with my head down until I heard a noise from behind me. I turned my head to see where it had come from but tripped on something in front of me. I grunted as I hit the floor, slowly standing up and gaining balance. I then turned my head to see what I had tripped over.
There, on the ground lay a stiff, pale version of Justin, his eyes staring at nothing and glazed over. His expression as blank as a canvas. stepping back a bit I quickly fell over once more to feel a shock of ice cold air run through my body.
I twirled my head around once more to see none other then the Gryffindor ghost, nearly headless nick, floating six inches off the ground up and down, having the same expression as Justin. His head was half off and his body now was the colour of soot rather a light blue.
Just then, a roar of voices came from classroom just ahead in the next corridor. Students talking and laughing, teasing friends and reviewing the class they had just finished. I went to move but my legs wouldn't budge. I was stuck in place from shock and now I was at yet another crime scene. 'There's no way anyone will think I'm innocent now' I told myself.
"Ahhh! Look who it is! Harry parry potty watty at yet another scene" peeves the poltergeist teased, floating around me and sticking both thumbs to the side of his face, wiggling them while pointing his tongue at me.
"Peeves. Please don't, I'm begging you" I cried for him to be quiet. To not make a big act. At least, no until I was able to move my legs again. Peeves shrugged off my begging and took a sharp inhale. "ATTACK! ATTACK! ANOTHER ATTACK! NO MORTAL BEING OR GHOST ARE SAFE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! ATTAAAAAAAACK!!" He bellowed.
Crashes and bursts were to be heard from all around, students hurrying over to where I was for a good view of what happened. Teachers yelling for students to back off and go back to their classes, yes failing miserably. Professor McGonagall had come striding towards me, followed quickly by her most recent class.
"Pr-Professor I swear I d-didn't do it!" I pleaded as she guided me away. "That will be enough from you" she said sternly.
"Caught in the act!" A voice none other than Ernie's screamed as I walked swiftly past him. "That is quite enough, Mr Macmillan!" McGonagall ordered, shutting up Ernie's mouth almost immediately.
"Oh Potter, you rotter, oh what have you done, you're killing off students, you think it's good fun-" the poltergeist sang.
"That will do peeves!" Professor McGonagal barked as he zoomed past us, continuing his song. I waked with my arms limo to my side, turning my head around to see Justin carefully being loaded onto a stretcher and being taken to the hospital wing by a few professors while professor Snape made a large fan appear from the tip of his wand, slowly gliding nearly headless nick up the staircase closest.
"Professor-"
"This is out of my hands Potter" she snapped.
I was led to a spiral staircase, guarded by a gargoyle when we finally stopped walking. "LEMON DROP" Professor McGonagall yelled as the stone began to move. She guided me in harshly as stairs began to form. Every drop of fear and dread I had was put into this moment. what was I to say, where were we going? I had so many questions but no time to answer them myself, let alone ask.
"This way" she said, guiding me to a large door. I heard a loud bang from behind me as the doors to the staircase shut but didn't bother looking back. Professor McGonagall reached out her hand and grabbed a knocker in the shape of a griffin placed on the wood, loudly banging the door with it twice. As it opened I soon realized where we were, what was going on and who was in the room.
This was Dumbledores office....
