I was walking down the street in the middle of the night. I had nowhere to go in the streets of Italy, I barely knew the language. I looked over my shoulder to make sure no one was following, then out of a sudden I heard a scream from behind me. With a gasp I turned around to look for the source of where the sound came from. Panick to over my body as I ran the oppisite of the sound dragging my bag with me, my feet slapped against the pavement. I was huffing and puffing as I slowed down making sure I was far away enough from the sound. I felt guilty for not even trying to help that poor soul, but I knew if I did I would also share the same fate.I leaned against the wall closes to me, I looked both of my sides then looked at the ground. I sat down on the damp floor, I shivered as the wind blew past me. I did have money with me, but I didn't want to spend it on a hotel, just only for food. I pulled my bag next to me unzipping the zipper. I pulled out a large hoodie and spread it out against my body sitting up and let darkness come over me.
I woke as the sun beamed against my face, with a sigh I got up folding my hoodie. I put it back in my bag as I put it over my shoulder walking to where there was more people. I started walking around until I stopped in front of the one and only Volterra. I didn't really care how fancy it was all I wanted wwas to eat, so I turned my back and headed to one of the Cafe's. After about an hour I left the Cafe when Ii finished eating, I was happy that I finally ate since the last time I did. As I got up I left the Cafe and was walking to the fountain, I was tired of the walking. As I neared it I sat down at the edge, I looked around me, as people walked passed me, with sweaters or coats. It was rather chilly since I was wearing a jacket and gloves. Minutes passed until a lady walked in front of me with a smile, "Good afternoon, I'm having a tour for Volterra and I need a speicific amount of people to continue on with the tour. Would you like to complete our group?"
I looked at her cautiously as she said this, I knew I didn't want to spend mony for a stupid tour but just looking at her made me think other wise. "I don't have money." I deadpanned, she smile as if this weren't the first time of her hearing it. "There's no need, the tour is free." she seemed happy as if she knew I was going to agree. "It seems too good to be true, there's a catch to this and I would like to know what it is." Her smile almost faultered, as I said it. "There's no catch." After debating whether to go or not I finally agreed making her smile widen if that were possible. I was never good with people so I stayed at the back when we regrouped. She led us to the enterance, speaking what had to be said in the tour. People took pictures and awwed when she said something interesting. I wasn't paying any attention until we walked into a large room or throne I should say. I looked around as the other did so, noticing other people in the room. "I want to thank you," a person said in front of us with hands clapped together, "for you sacrafice." After him saying that, screams were heard all around me, I clutched my bag close to me as I turned around. I searched as fast as I could as the screams got louder and bodies dropping to the ground, I saw a corner with enough shade to hide me. I ran towards it as fast as I could, I covered my mouth to slow my breathing as I was in the corner. The screams stopped minutes later, I shut my eyes hoping this were a dream.
"Well this is a pleasent surprise. More food for me." I opened my eyes as I say a man in front of me wearing a cloak. He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him, I screamed as he pulled my head to the side to reveal my neck. As soon as his lips touched my neck he froze, I took it as my chance to get away from him and recoiled away from him pulling me knees to my chest. I watched him as he froze and grey veins started to appear on his skin he then collapsed on the floor. I sat there not knowing what to do, I looked around to see pale skinned people with red eyes looking at me. I got up, looking around me to make sure no one was about to attack, then looked down at the man I killed. I walked to him and crouched down near him, I then brushed my hand over his open eye leds and closed them whispering, "I'm sorry." I then got up and turned around watching the people with cloaks looking at me with curiosity. Looking at the man ahead of me with black straight hair, I apoligized. "I apoligize for this incident that I created. But I would like to thank you for the tour you have given me." Turning around to the large doors, I opened them with eas and exited the room. I turned back around to face them to see their surprised expressions. "Agian, I apoligize."
Exiting the Volterra building I walked back to the fountian sitting down on the original place I was in. I noticed that my eyesight was enhance, also my hearing and strength. I smiled at my new found discovery, until I felt being watched. I looked around trying to find the source, but soon gave up.
