Chapter 10: I'm Torn (Day Ten)

Liam's POV:

I left the hospital. I'll visit her later. Right now my heart sank. Yeah I heard she was with Louis before but I thought they broke up. It's not like I was gonna tell her I like her but what if I did? What if I just said, "Emily, I like you?"

Then everything would change.

My friendship with her is so important to me.

It started raining but I didn't care. Let it soak me for all I care. She's lost her memory, so she doesn't even remember our friendship. She doesn't remember that Louis didn't treat her like I did.

I got back to the bus to find Harry and Zayn getting ready for the show. "Hey, we were just coming to pick you and Louis up."

"I'm here." I said. "So are we ready for the show?"

"Yeah...." Harry said. "Is Lou still at the hospital?"

"Yeah, he is. But it's almost his shift."

"Oh yeah. Alrighty then, I guess we're picking up Niall then."

I was so heartbroken that I didn't know how I was going to make it through the show without crying. I was okay. I just wish she knew how much I liked her. It's okay.

Louis's POV:

I took the shift for the night to stay with Emily. I know Niall saw our connection. It's not that I really meant for that to happen. I knew he told Liam and I know Liam is sad about it.

So I'm trying not to let anything happen.

Emily was a little bored, so we went down to the gift shop and looked around. We took a walk around the lobby and went back to the room. We turned on the TV, and sure enough the boys' show tonight was live. We watched it and after a while she asked me something.

"Is Liam okay? He looks sad."

I wasn't sure what to say. "Yeah, he's just heartbroken."

"Who?"

"I......he doesn't know I know."

"So you want to keep it secret to protect him?"

"Yeah sorta."

"That's very nice of you." she smiled.

"Emily--"

"So I think I heard that we were dating before I lost my memory?"

"Yeah, but only for like two days...."

"Why? You seem so sweet."

"Emily, you really--"

"Louis, I know we may have broken up. But maybe we can start over."

"Emily--"

"Maybe this is our second chance."

"Emily. Liam likes you."

"He....does?"

"Yes. He's crazy about you and Niall told him about how we connected earlier. That's why he's heartbroken. He likes you, Emily. I think he's liked you for a long time now. You've only been with us for ten days but he likes you. I can't go back to my ex-girlfriend when I know that my best friend likes her. He can treat you better than I can, trust me."

Emily's POV:

Liam or Louis? I'm torn.
