"Yo Eli!" called my best friend, Troy. I turned around and saw him running down the hall. "Dude, how was your weekend?"
"Oh it as-"
"Mine was fantastic! I mean Cindy, yeah she finally said yes!" he went on, we turned and started walking towards Gym.
"Oh that's great-"
"Isn't it man? So, what did you do over the weekend."
"Oh I-oof!-"I said. "Hey,"I turned, and saw this tiny girl walking away. So she just bumps into me without saying 'sorry?' "When you bump into someone, you don't just walk away." she didn't turn back, just kept walking, as if I never existed. "Didn't your mom teach you any manners," she froze, just for a second, looked at at me, then kept walking. I smirked, so she did hear me.
"Yo, who's the chick." Troy said nodding his head toward the girl.
"No idea, but whatever. It's not like she matters." I said, but in my head, my thoughts were reeling with questions. Who is she? How come I don't recognize her? What doe she look like? What kind of person is she? Why do I care?
"Come on dude, let's go."
"Yeah,"I said turning back to him. The bell rung, and we were only half way through the school.
"Oh well, it's only one time were late."
"Yeah,"I agreed. "This week,"
"Haha, yeah, come on. "
Sam's POV
This morning my foster care parents didn't want me anymore. Theres goes another one, I thought bitterly. I took a sharpie out of my pockets and lifted my left shoe. Anderson. I wrote hastily. I took a moment to read off the other names. Linton, Pyle, Hale, Bores, Hamilton, Kings, Edwards, and finally, Anderson. I sighed and tucked my suitcase underneath my bed. Same old dulled grey walls, pain washed white sheets and pillows. Same old lumpy mattress, and creaky floors.
"Don't worry Sam. You'll have a new home in no time. You always do and always have."said Sister Ann entering my room. "You're a very beautiful young women, even prettier since the last time I saw you." Yeah four months ago.
I smiled politely, "Thank you Sister Ann. You haven't aged a day since then too."
Sister Ann smiled at me, "Come, it's time for school."
"Alright,"I sighed. I walked over to the door, and to Sister Ann. She placed her hand on my back, her guesture warm and comforting.
"You'll do fine, I- no- we know you will." said Sister Alice, as we passed her.
"Thank you, all of you, for taking care of me all these years."I said.
"Sam,you're like our daughter. All of us loves you. Don't forget that." Sister Marie joined.
"We have a present for you," smiled the three of them.
"Oh, there was no need-"
"We insist." the all said.
"Alright,"I said closing my eyes. I felt something being placed in the palm of my hand. I opened one eye, then the other. I gazed at the box and them opened it. Out popped a wooden heart necklace. It was a simple dark maple wood, with a chain and fake gems. Engraved on the back were our names. Marie, Alice, Ann, and Sam. I felt my eyes tear up as I gazed at the beautiful gift.
"Thank you,"I could barely say. "Thank you!"I said louder, and gathered them in a hug.
"Your welcome, hun."said Marie, laughing.
"Alright, here,"said Sister Alice, taking the necklace from my hand. Sister Marie took my hair, her warm soft hands brushing against my neck. Sister Alice clasped the necklace and Marie smoothed my hair back down. I brought my hand toward the pendant and looked at the graving once again. "Hurry, or you'll be late,"said Sister Ann, smiling at me. I hugged each of them again, then took off.
I half walked, half ran towards the bus stop. 5 seconds later, the bus starts to round the corner and stop at the stop sign. We boarded into the under crowded bus and took our seats. Ignoring each other. No one ever talks, it's more of a conversation with eyes. Pulling up to our school, we silently stood up and filed out, it's strange, all the loner students like me, all ride the same bus. None of us are friends, but when one of us is messed with, were all messed with. It's strange, but it's like one of those things that can't be explained.
I trudged into school and went through my day. I opened my folder to my homework and checked my Lab report for AP Physics+Chem. Hmm...everything looks okay...wait! Dang it! I thought, I should've added that part! It would've made my report so much better! Ahhh!! Frustrated with myself I wasn't watching where I was going until I bumped into someone. Oh well, who ever it was, probably was a girl considering how weak she was.
"Hey," an unreconizable voice called. That...wasn't a girl. Uh oh. Just keep walking, walking walking, just keep walking. "When you bump into someone, you don't just walk away,"he continued. "Didn't your mom teach you any manners." I stopped right there. Tears threathening to flow from my eyes, I turned my head a little to the left, and saw an unfamilar man with brown hair and blueish greenish eyes. I sighed and continued walking. He's no one special.
Eli's POV
"Robinson, Erikson why the hold up for your class huh?"yelled coach as we entered the gym.
"Busted,"Troy muttered, "Coach, come on. This is the first time we're late!" he smiled brightly.
"Yes, I am aware of that...this week. Now 6 laps on the track. Whoever makes more than 12 minutes gets detention." Dammit, he is one pissed off dude. "Well, what are you idiots standing around for? Go!" Oops. We ran outside and onto the track, along with some other guys on the football team. Since all gym classes have guys and girls, the girls were lagging a lap behind, in their weird girl group.
I was on my 2nd lap when suddenly someone shot through the field like a rocket cutting through the football field, and then grabbing onto the chainlinked fence. I sped up and when I got closer I noticed it was a girl. She had black hair that waved slightly against her back. I looked back at the coach who was yelling at the girls to hurry up. He didn't notice yet. She climbed like a spider and swung her legs ove rthe fence, and jumpped down. Dropping something the process. But she did not notice and sprinted again, towards the Science Department building. I looked back at the coach, then jogged towards whatever it was. A flash drive? Sam Napoli. It labled.
"Erikson! Pick up the pace!" yelled Coach. I put the flas drive in my pocket and began to run again. When I was done, I reached into my pocket. Sam Napoli. Who is this chick?
**Alrtight, I'm sorry! I couldn't help myself! I wrote another story, this will be the short cliche type of story of mine, that's half predicable, half not. For readers who have read my other stores, you know what I mean, but those who have just read me, I am very unpredicable. I chage up story plots and creat confusing twists, where soon you don't know what to believe ;) I'm thinking about 10 parts? maybe less maybe slightly more? Its undecitted now, but it'll be clear later on in this story. Vote, Comment, Fan me if you haven't :)~Tiffany**
