I never imagined how much it would hurt knowing that the king of the Nether was dead. It felt like my own life has ended, and I didn't know why. I didn't even know him for that long, but as we continued our way through this hellish journey, it felt like our bond grew, and the only one in the world who could understand him was me, and that was something I couldn't let go of, and it left me with guilt.
I was far enough for Notch to not notice my presence yet, he seemed to be busy looking at the ground in confusion. I didn't really care if he noticed me or not, it felt like nothing mattered anymore. It felt like for the first time in my life I wasn't afraid of dying, like it didn't matter anymore. I was useless, I couldn't even help him when he needed me but he saved me countless of times.
I couldn't move my body or speak, it felt like I couldn't breath, the pain was immeasurable and I couldn't do anything but look forward with wide eyes, the scene running through my head over and over again, looking for any possible way he could have survived. He was there, right in front of me two seconds ago, I was so close I could almost see his face in full detail...But I still couldn't reach him in time.. and then he was blown to bits.
"Go back to the house." A sudden voice rang in my head, It almost sounded like him. I knew I was going crazy, and I ignored the sound. I couldn't move even if I wanted to.
"Idiot, I told you go back to the house, don't ignore me," This time the voice got my attention. I looked around, looking for anyone familiar who was talking to me. I wiped my tears from my eyes, making my vision clearer and looking around again, still nothing.
"GO BACK TO THE HOUSE!" That was definitely Herobrine's voice, and my world of despair turned into confusion, and I decided to investigate. I couldn't tell if I was crazy or not, but this was honestly my last choice, whether I was crazy or not I had to hide from Notch while he was still dazed.
I turned around, still holding the puppy in my arms, and ran back to where I came from, making sure I didn't step on any traps or something that would make a loud noise.
It felt like ages before I reached my destination, and when I looked around, I saw no one. I breathed heavily through my mouth, the adrenaline never leaving me ever since I entered the battlefield.
"Lets go," I heard a deep voice from behind grab my arm which caught me by surprise. I turned around with shock in my eyes, my grip on the dog tightened while I looked up into those white eyes. His angry face slowly turned into confusion while he held my arm in place.
"Why the hell are you crying?" He asked bluntly. I made a quiet "huh?" noise while I move my arm up to my face, feeling the wet substances streaming down my face.
"I...H-h-ow..?" It was harder to speak then I expected it to be, I sniffled up my nose and rubbed away the tears while he still held my arm, his grip tightening as if he was afraid I was to disappear. I suddenly noticed all the blood streaming down his face and my eyes looked up toward him in panic.
"Lets go, we don't have time to chit chat, Notch will figure out were gone soon and-" He was cut off when he heard an explosion in the distance. His head turned toward the direction,as droplets of blood dropped from his face. As if in slow motion, I turned my head as well, seeing my nightmares come back to reality when I saw an angry Notch running full speed at us. It was one of the scariest things I've ever seen in my life, in the distance it almost looked as if his eyes were red...
"RUN!" Herobrine suddenly screamed and tugged my arm and ran full speed in the opposite direction.
I was still in shock and in no condition to start running full speed once again, so I tripped a bit by his difference in speed and mine, but I quickly got into balance and ran along with him, my adrenaline increasing once again. I could hear loud footsteps from behind, and some angry screaming, but I was honestly too scared to look back and my heavy breathing covered the noise of complete chaos behind me.
