You are Tony Stark's sister. You never thought you'd have to spend much time with the man who killed your parents until you're forced to go on a mission with him, despite not even being an Avenger. What will happen when you...
You and Bucky have been walking through the forest for what seems like hours, but it's only really been about half an hour. You're carrying a few bags but Bucky's carrying the bigger, heavier ones which you appreciate. As you're walking in boring, slightly uncomfortable silence, you can't help but zone out.
*Flashback*
"I'm going to miss you so much, (Y/N)" Steve tells you, sighing before pulling you into a tight hug.
"Me too." You reply, looking down so he doesn't see your nervous expression.
"...He'll keep you safe...if that's what you're worried about." He tells you. Can't hide anything from Captain America, I guess.
"I-I know." You reply, trying your best not to stutter, which you fail miserably at.
"I'll make sure of it. Besides, we'll contact you everyday with the satellite phones." Steve reassures you and you nod. He pulls you into another hug and places a comforting kiss on your cheek. You're about to say goodbye to Tony when you see that he's already talking to Bucky. You try not to eavesdrop but you honestly just can't help yourself.
"You promise me?" You overhear Tony ask Bucky in a hushed and intimidating tone.
"I already said yes, Tony. I promise you." Bucky replies. "You can trust me."
"But can she?"
"...Yes. Of course she can." Bucky replies with a look as if to say 'don't be an idiot'. "I can't believe you'd even make me promise something like that. I thought it was just obvious that, that's how it would be."
"Good." Tony replies and he seems relieved. When Bucky walks away to say goodbye to Steve, you approach your brother and give him a long hug and he wishes you well and tells you he loves you, which is rare for him. Before you know it, they've left and you and Bucky have officially started your mission together.
*End of flashback*
"(Y/N)?" You hear Bucky ask ahead of you.
"Oh...yeah?"
"I called your name like three times. Everything okay?"
"Sorry...yes I'm okay."
"Good. Well...we're here." He tells you, smiling because you guys don't have to walk anymore. You see the hut you'll be staying in and smile. Finally.
(A/N: here's kinda somewhat what it looks like if you forgot :) hopefully it just gives you like a feel of what it looks like, obviously it's not exact hahaha x)
