Isla-MeiI was making my way to my dads place. He said he had to tell me something. I was driving down the street of my dads home where I grew up. I parked in the driveway before taking out my keys and trying to open the door but the door key didn't work. They must've changed the locks.
I rang the doorbell and waited for it to open and when it did I was met with my stepmother who had the fakest smile on her face.
"Come in. Your father and I have exciting news just for you." She Said in a cheerful voice. I was nervous because her idea of exciting wasn't always the same as mine.
I walked into the house walking into the living room where my dad was waiting on the couch.
"Hi dad." I smiled bowing as he kissed the top of my head.
I sat down across from him as my stepmother put some hot chocolate in front of me. Something was up. She never done that since the 15 years she's been married to my dad made anything for us.
"Thank you." I said softly. "So what did you call me here for?" I asked wanting to just know what was the reason to call me here.
"Well we have news. We got a proposal." Dad Said.
"A marriage proposal. For you." My stepmother stated happily.
"What?" I asked in shock as I put the warm cup of hot chocolate down onto the coffee table. The sweetness of the drink gone and replaced my a bitter feeling on my tongue.
"We said yes to it and it's just up to you now and we set it up-
"No." I shook my head. "I don't even know this person. I can't marry a stranger!" I cut my father off.
"We already said yes-
"What do you mean we, you're not even my mother you don't get a say." I snapped at the strange woman who I never got to know for the past 15 years.
"Yet I've always seen you as a daughter, I want the best for you he's a great guy. Let's go talk." She got up with a smile urging me to follow her to the kitchen.
"You'll get to meet him before the wedding." Dad Said.
I looked over at my dad and he nodded. I huffed and went to the kitchen to see what she had to say.
Her fake smile fell replaced with a glare. "Listen here you little brat. If you don't say yes to this proposal I will make sure your little plans on getting to medical school don't happen. You may have gotten a free ride to university because of your scholarship but I promise you, you won't get anywhere near your first semester of medical school." She sneered. I couldn't afford medical school on my own. Dad had given me a whole savings account just for my medical school that my mother left for me that I gained access to when I turned 18 and I knew my stepmother had ways of hypnotizing my dad to do her work. I couldn't let Yunho and Heya help out because I know they would try and I couldn't let that happen. They already do so much it's not fair to them.
