Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.
My eyes flung open. I shot up from my lying position, putting my hands flat beside me on the... couch. I breathed I sigh of relief when I realised that I was still in Janet's sewing room. She'd let me and Zoella sleep in here last night, although I saw no current sign of my friend.
Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.
Shaking my head, I tries to shake off my tiredness while swinging off the blanket I had borrowed. Stumbling sleeping over to my jacket that I left on a chair, I rummaged through its pockets until I found my phone.
"Hello." I answered, rubbing my eyes.
"Hey, Ebony. It's me." Robin replied.
"Oh hey." I said quietly.
"Um, how are you?"
"I'm-I'm good. Last night went really well... I got to see Zoella again.
"I'm glad it worked out well." He said. "So, we've been called up for a mission, and Batman said you can come if you want."
"Uh, no. I think I'll just stay here for a while. I'm not my best at the moment."
"Okay, well, I'll see you later then."
"Wait, Robin." I said.
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry for running out on you like that, I shouldn't have."
"It's fine. You were overwhelmed, there's no harm done." He reassured me, but I could hear something in his voice - something I just couldn't quite place.
"Okay... well just, be safe."
"Always am." I could see him grinning on the other end of the phone.
"Bye."
"Bye."
I hung up and shoved the phone back into my jacket, then proceeding to put it on. Walking out of red velvet room, I could see that there were a few people walking in between the isles. Upon seeing me, Janet stood up and strode over to me.
"How are you dear?" She asked.
"A bit tired, but still good." I looked around. "Where's Zoella?"
Her face creased into one of thought. "I think she just popped out for a walk, or something. She does that - always coming and going that girl." Janet chuckled lightly. "You can have a look around if you want, dear."
"Thank you." I said, wandering over to the isles of 'toys'.
After looking around aimlessly for about half an hour, I found myself by Janet's desk; it was unoccupied. Behind the little working space stood a door that had escaped my notice. Curiosity getting the best of me, I went over to the wall. Curiosity getting the better of me, I checked no one was looking before I faded into my shadow form, and slipped through the crack in the door.
There was a dark hallway beyond the mysterious door. As I stepped through the shadows, I passed an open door that led to messy looking room; draped with cloths and clothes and measuring tapes. I decided that this was Janet's room. At the end of the hallway though, there was another room; which had it's door closed.
I sped up my pace as I neared it. Soon enough I was slipping between that door and frame as well. As soon as I entered the room, I stepped out of the wall. What I saw around me took my breath away.
Papers were everywhere. Pinned on the walls, stuck to the roof, piled on the desks, arranged just-so on the floor. Many of them were newspaper clippings; looking closer, I could see that most of them were reports on either my crimes, or Joker's.
So this was where Zoella had lived for the last five years.
In the corner next to a plain looking bed, there was a plain looking desk, with a very fancy computer sitting on top of it. And as I sat down in the swivel and turned it on, the screen said I needed a password to log in. Oh, how I miss Robin.
After many failed attempts - included both mine name and names of people close to Zoella - I was almost out of ideas. People were really the only thing that I could think of that she would put as her password, as we had never really stayed in one place for long, except...
I jolted forward in my the chair and typed the last hope of a word. Grimrose. The name of the orphanage where Zoella and I had met. To my delight, the screen presented an 'ACCESS GRANTED' banner and allowed me onto the computer.
But as soon as I was ready to scroll through the files, a link to an Internet video popped up. I was about to ignore it when the word Joker caught my eye. Not wasting a second I clicked the link and the screen flashed to a video.
Of the title scared me, the video itself was much more terrifying. It was a news report; first showing street footage of dark haired a teenage girl walking down the Gotham streets. A girl I instantly recognised to be Zoella.
As soon as she went to turn the corner, my unsuspecting friend was immediately jumped by the same trio of girls who attacked the team, as well as their band of Joker's men. Wildcard and her two friends Riddlerette and Thorn.
They came at her with great force, throwing every move they had in. But as I watched, I noticed that Ivy's apprentice, Thorn, seemed to be letting the other two do most of the damage. Then they loaded my unconscious friend into a van and drive off.
There was another thing I noticed was a street sign: Mackenbury Lane. I pulled out my phone, wanting to let the team know of the dilemma, but then thought better of it, and put my phone away. The team were on a mission. I could find Zoella, get her and get out without having fight any of those girls, therefore avoiding my capture as well. Besides, if I really did need any help I could call Canary.
Without a second thought, I got up and ran out of the room, out of the warehouse, and onto the street. Here goes nothing, I though, and took off down the street.

Hello.
So, this is kind of a cliffhanger. Heh, I'm not really sure what to say in this author's note. My brother went into hospital yesterday, the doctors said he'll be put on Saturday, so that's good. I wrote this by his bedside as he was sleeping, and eating his dinner.
Um, so I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and look out for the next one. Because really, all of you lovely readers have gotten this story up to 3k. Seriously, that is amazing.
Thanks for reading.
P.S. I discovered there was a problem in my story where chapter 1&7 weren't there, but I've fixed that now.
