Summary

Once the new professor comes to Garreg Mach, they decided to teach the blue lions house. You, an empire native, end up joining the class with a bit of persuasion from Dimitri. During your time in your new class, you grow quite close to Dimitri. This was closer than you expected you'd be, but you also had other ties you needed to worry about. You had been part of the plot against the church with Edelgard and Hubert, and when the time comes you are forced to abandon the blue lions. This makes Dimitri's resolve worse then it already was once he found out Edelgard betrayed the church. You and Dimitri don't see each other again until five years later, during a time that you were instructed to keep the peace in the capital city Fhirdiad.

Story

The new professor had caused quite a stir at the academy. They had decided to teach the Blue Lions house, leaving the other professors at the academy to take up the other two houses. Professor Manuela had volunteered to teach the Black Eagles and Hannerman would teach the Golden Deer. Of course the Black Eagles and Golden Deer were both a little disappointed, but they would get over it quickly. Each house then turned to focusing on their studies and training, leaving little time to dwell on the new professor.

{Y/n} had been an Empire native, putting her within the Black Eagles house. She had no claim to nobility but had made a promising archer. She was sponsored by the capital to receive training in hopes of her becoming a prominent general in the army. Her position made her have close ties with Edelgard and Hubert, meaning she had known all about the plot against the church.

Personally, {Y/n} didn't mind the church. The issue was that she wasn't in a position to stand against Edelgard. At any moment, she could be thrown back to the streets or tried for treason against the Empire if she let anyone catch wind of the plan. Things had started to become difficult lately, knowing that the plan would be put into affect soon.

Right now she tried to focus on her studies, even if it wouldn't matter in the end. She sat in the training yard since it was empty for once, her nose buried in a book regarding history and old battles. She was so focused that she didn't hear anyone enter. It was only when they cleared their throat that she realized she wasn't alone.

"Oh-... Hello Dimitri." She said, giving the blond a polite smile. It saddened her that soon she would most likely be against him in war, but for now she focused on other things.

"Forgive me, were you going to train {Y/n}?" He asked, worried he had stepped on your toes by taking your training time.

"I am training." She said then gestured to the book she had.
"Reading isn't training."
"Oh? Well I disagree."
"Training involves a sword or a weapon in your hand, not a book." Dimitri argued.

"Books train us in their own way, even one as boring as a history book. History trains us about what not to do, about what battle techniques work and which don't." She explained, afraid that her words were falling on deaf ears. She let out a sigh then lifted up one of the other books she brought with her. "Would you like to train with me?" She asked.

"Only if it's with a real weapon."
"Fine then." She huffed then got up.

{Y/n} grabbed a training bow while Dimitri grabbed a training lance. He couldn't help but scowl at her choice of weaponry, deciding that he would have a rather easy fight. Once they were both ready, Dimitri immediately charged forward.

At first, {Y/n} would dodge and analyze his movements. Seeing him charge with his right foot first meant he had put most of his balance on it. In her retaliation she would fire one of the blunt training arrows directly at the back of his right knee before he could turn around. Dimitri tripped slightly before he got up again.
