Story

Footsteps echoed out across the hallways of Garreg Mach, not just one set but multiple. A young girl ran down the hallway, most likely about seventeen years in age. When the girl rounded a sharp corner she would slip slightly but then catch herself, taking off again just as fast as earlier. The footsteps that followed her were heavy and fueled by anger, only pushing her drive to get away. While she ran, she laughed. She attempted to think of the looks that decorated the faces of those who chased her, each time she did think about it she would giggle.

Soon she spotted two figures in her way, those she knew as Edelgard and Hubert. She didn't care for Hubert, knowing he could deal with the blue lions that chased her perfectly fine on his own. Instead she worried for Edelgard, her house leader and her old friend.

"El! Run!" She had called out just as she ran past Edelgard and Hubert. In her confusion, {Y/n} grabbed Edelgard's wrist and pulled her down the hallway. When Edelgard looked back, Hubert had teleported away and the blue lions were in chase. Edelgard started to laughed slightly when she saw that they were covered in patches of fur and thick, blue paint.

"What did you do {Y/n}?" Edelgard asked once she matched her pace to {Y/n}s.
"I just wanted to lighten the mood around here!" {Y/n} defended.

Edelgard laughed once more before {Y/n} took a hard left. She quickly pulled her house leader into a small room with her before shutting the door. The mob of blue lions had run past the room, a few of them arguing about which way {Y/n} had gone.

"Left!?" Felix shouted out.
"Well you saw her didn't you!?" Annette argued.
"She was too fast!"
"I think we should just let this g-..." Ashe started.
"No!" The rest of them yelled together at Ashe.

{Y/n} held in a tiny snicker, her ear pressed against the door while she waited for them to move. They all took off farther down the the hallway before their chatter became out of range. Now they were gone, both {Y/n} and Edelgard bursted out laughing.

Edelgard turned slightly sad, watching her old friend lost in so much carefree joy. It made her realize how much she missed being able to run around with {Y/n}, pulling pranks and the such. {Y/n} noticed Edelgard go quite and she stopped laughing.

"Well, I thought it was pretty funny." {Y/n} said, not sure why Edelgard looked so upset.
"Wha-... Yeah it was, but I can't be doing this {Y/n}." Edelgard explained.

After letting out a small pssh sound, {Y/n} put one hand over her right hip. "That's what you always say now El, ever since you and Hubert became so chummy it's like I don't exist anymore." {Y/n} started. "You two are cooking up something, but I won't pry I guess... I can understand, I wouldn't want to tell people about my pranks or else they wouldn't be as funny." She went on.

Edelgard smiled sadly, feeling slightly bad about the first part that {Y/n} had said.

"I've just been busy." Edelgard tried to explain.
"Yeah... Sorry for coming down on you."

{Y/n} let out a heavy sigh then slid down against the door, going all the way to the floor to sit. Edelgard sat as well, taking this time to actually spend with {Y/n} before Hubert found her again. "I miss you too... I'll leave all of today just for you." Edelgard said, giving {Y/n} a heartwarming  smile when she saw {Y/n}'s eyes light up.
