It is morning. Ciel rubs his eyes sleepily and lifts his head up to glance at his room still dark.
He wonders why Sebastian has not woken him up.
He flops his head back down on his pillow and smiles when he remembers the events of last night.
Sebastian had no idea at all that I was actually awake. Ciel throws his covers over his head, and draws his knees to his chin.
A sudden unfamiliar tugging at the corner of his lips confuses him.
Am I.... Smiling?
He nervously touches his mouth and feels where his lips curve up.
I guess I am..
He puts his hands back down on his plush white sheets, and rolls onto his side. He lets his mind wander.
Thoughts flow into his head like blood oozing from a wound.
His mind drifts back to when Sebastian was playing his violin. That seems like such a long time ago... but in reality it was a mere 2 weeks...
Memories again resurface of the unknown letter with the seal. It had been a big deal at the time but turned out just to be a new duke inviting him to a ball. Petty nonsense.
Ciel does know however, what isn't petty nonsense.

Sebastian.
Ciel has noticed in the past few days that his thoughts have become almost tunnel vision. All fun and games, but ending at the same finish line. Sebastian.
Ciel's thoughts could start out with thinking about the color of the sky, and he inevitably would end up at his butler. He isn't quite sure how that is possible but it is.
A faint knock jostles Ciel out of his thoughts.

"Good morning my young lord," the cheery voice of Sebastian Michaelis sounds after the door is opened.

"It's hardly morning anymore." Ciel says saltily, not bothering to sit up.

"You would be correct," Sebastian replies, "I see Young Master is good at telling time. Ciel can see the smirk on Sebastian's face without looking. It's in his tone.

"Why'd you let me sleep in anyways..?" Ciel asks now sitting up.

"There is nothing on the schedule today." Sebastian says taking a step or two closer to Ciel's bed.

Ciel notices his movements and fidgets a bit, uncomfortable.

"I-I thought for sure that we had to go into town today." Ciel says slowly looking up to Sebastian's face.

"We did. But they have been cancelled."

"Cancelled?"

"Quite. You see, it's appears that," Sebastian opens the blinds, "We are snowed in."

Ciel brings his legs over the side of the bed and looks through the blinds.
"So you're right."
He sits back down on the bed.

"Now what am I going to do all day."

Sebastian clears his throat.
"I have a few ideas..."
