David's P.O.V

Today was perfect. One of the most perfect days in my entire life to be precise. For the first time in 6 months, I felt like maybe my one in a million chance with Natalie has increased.

It was almost 11 pm and Nat and I had just parked in the garage at home. I got out of the car and helped Natalie out before I locked both the car and the garage door.

Natalie opened the door of the house and we walked in, taking our shoes off. She shut the door and turned around to face me.

"Did you like today?" She asked with a shy smile.

"Liked?" I laughed, "Nat, I loved it."

She blushed. The amount of times I made her blush today could probably get me a world record.

She walked to the living room and sat down on the couch, "What was your favorite part?" She asked again.

I gave her a thinking face, even though I didn't need to think about the question at all, "Watching the stars."

"Yeah, me too," She smiled.

I sat down next to her and pulled her hands into mine, slightly turning her to face me, "Nat," I spoke.

"Yes?" She replied, the smile still brightly pasted on her kissable lips.

"Why?"

She seemed confused by my question, and her smile faded away, "Why what?" She replied to my question with another.

"Today," I said, looking Nat deep into her eyes, "What was it for?" I continued.

"Oh," She replied, slightly biting her lower lip. Can she like not do that? Because fuck that was hot.

She opened her mouth to speak again, but was cut off by loud banging on the door. I let go of Nat's hands and stood up immediately, sending Natalie the most confused glance ever.

"Are you expecting anyone?" I asked.

She shook her head, "Are you?"

I shook my head as well. We both looked at the door with intense stares as I slowly walked up to it.

The person outside the door kept knocking hard, almost like they were trying to break the door down. Natalie curled up on the couch, obviously scared.

"Dave, careful," She said with worry, I gave her a slight nod, before looking through the peep hole.

My anxiety rose as I took a look, but I let out a sigh of relief when I noticed that it was only Shawn.

Oh that asshole.

I opened the door and glared at him, "What?" I demanded to know as soon as he was in sight.

Natalie's expression went from scared to angry, and she got off the couch and walked right up to us.

"Is that how you treat all your guests or am I just special?" He laughed, walking right into the house.

I pushed him back as my blood fucking boiled, "I never said you could come in," I slightly raised my voice at him.

Natalie grabbed my forearm and softly rubbed it, "It's okay," She whispered to me, and then turned to look at Shawn with an attitude, "What the fuck brings you here?"

"I thought we agreed that I'd explain."

Natalie let out a cold laugh, "Well, bitch, you're 2 days late."

Shawn sighed, "I had my reasons," He said, trying to explain himself.

Natalie rolled her eyes.

"Leave," She demanded.

Seeing her act like that was turning me on so bad I needed to calm the fuck down.

"I'm not leaving till you let me explain," Shawn argued, shutting the door and coming close to Natalie.

I grabbed Natalie's hand and slightly pushed her behind me, "You heard her, leave, or else I'll make you leave," I threatened.

Shawn scoffed, "Just let me fucking explain."

"I don't want you to," Natalie spoke, walking out from behind me and standing right next to me.

"I know you do, you've been dreaming for an entire year of an explanation," Shawn said with a smug look on his face.

If Nat wasn't in the room, I would've probably disabled his face by now.

"Take your shitty excuses and get out of here, Shawn," Natalie stated, crossing her arms.

"Okay fine, stay forever without closure then," Shawn fought back.

Natalie glared at him, "I don't need it."

"Oh, but you do, because your desperate ass isn't over me, that's why you eagerly agreed to meet up with me, because you thought you'd get another chance, well guess what, that's not happening. Your ugly ass was the reason we ended, you're clingy as fuck and you're annoying, you suck as a girlfriend, you've never been enough for me, and you'll never be," Shawn yelled, visibly pissed off that Natalie wasn't giving him the time of the day.

My anger rose so high and I couldn't help myself, "Listen here, you dick," I yelled back, pushing him against the door and grabbing him from his collar, "Natalie is the most perfect girl that will ever cross your life, and I will not sit here and hear you say such things about her. She's more than enough, she's fucking amazing, you're the one that isn't enough for her. She's a goddess, and the only people you're enough for are the fucking hoes you fuck back at home."

Shawn stayed silent, and so did Natalie. I looked over at her, and she was standing there with tears rolling down her face. I let go of Shawn and ran up to her, pulling her into my arms, not giving two damns that Shawn was still standing right there.

Shawn gained back his words and he fixed the collar of his shirt, glaring at me, "All that Natalie is is desperate," He said again. I let go of Nat, ready to misplace his head but he spoke again before I had the chance to, "I bet she hasn't even kissed anyone since we broke up."

Natalie looked down. He was verbally hurting her so much, it was hurting me in the process. After a few moments of silence, Shawn laughed.

"I knew it," He said.

I fumed with anger, but I knew that if I was to get into a fight with him, it would only be worse for Natalie, so I played his card against him.

I placed a thumb under Nat's chin, lifting her face up so she could look at me. Staring into her eyes, I smiled and whispered, "I'm sorry," Then I leaned in, and connected my lips to hers as Shawn stood stunned in the background.
