The next morning, I was sitting on the couch in the living room eating Reese's puffs in a oversized baggy t-shirt with an old coffee stain on the front and a hole under the collar without pants on. The TV was on and I was watching reruns of Breaking Bad when all of the sudden my front door bursts opens. The door opening sends the dogs barking and running to greet whoever's was there. I honestly couldn't be bothered to move because I had drank two whole bottle of wine last night and I was a little hungover.
"Lala, we know you're here, we see the car in the driveway." Tyler's voice rang out from down the hall.
"First of all how'd you get in my house, and second of all I'm in the living room," I yelled back and stood up with my empty bowl. I walked over toward the kitchen just as Tyler and Yanni came into view. Both of them were dressed casually but looked 100 times nicer then I did at the current moment.
"The front door was unlocked," Tyler said as he walked into the kitchen.
"Good job dad," I thought to myself.
"Wow, really dressed to impress today aren't ya?" Gordy teased gesturing to my outfit.
"Shove it up your ass, Gordy," I muttered and rinsed the bowl out and set it in the sink.
"Thanks but Marie already lets me do that." He sassed back.
"Wow, okay, there goes my virgin ears!" I yelled and covered my ears.
"Oh relax Layla I'm only joking,."
"No, I really don't think you are."
"True, I'm not," he admitted and I cringed.
"Okay, y'all lets come back to center," Tyler cuts in and takes a seat at the bar. Yanni follows his moves and I stay standing and starring at them from across the counter.
"Let's move onto more appropriate discussions like the party tonight." Tyler brings up, "So right now I got yes's from most of the team about the party tonight. But I'm pretty sure everyone is going to show up"
"Okay, sweet, how are we with the alcohol front?" I asked and grabbed my little notebook that was sitting on the counter and opened it up to a blank page.
"Thats actually why we're here," Ty replied and threw me a pen which I caught and uncapped it. "We're here to pick you up because we're gonna go to the liquor store and Publix and get stuff for tonight."
I nodded in response and started making a quick grocery list.
"This really is your party so we wanted to bring you along so you could get what you wanted."
I looked up at them and smiled, "really? my party?"
"Yeah kid, it's your welcome home party." Yanni says
"Aww you guys," I gush "what'd I do to get friends as good as y'all?"
"You moved to Tampa," Gordy points out.
"True," I smiled and capped the pen and set it down. "Okay, I'm gonna go and get ready, you guys make yourselves at home and I'll be down in a bit."
They nodded in response and I headed over to the stairs and ran up them.
Once in my room, I quickly changed into a red tube top, medium wash jean shorts that had ties on the side and red high top converse. I quickly did my makeup which consisted of eyebrows and mascara and gave myself a once over in the mirror and was satisfied with my look. I grabbed my car keys and my purse, and walked out of my room turning off the light and closing the door behind me. I descended the stairs and saw the boys were sitting on the couch watching the TV.
