I woke up on the floor of a dusty old room. The blankets wrapped around me made my skin itch. The lights in the room were extremely dim. I couldn't see two feet in front of me. Just where was I? Dust flew up as I pulled the blankets off me. I looked around to try to find my backpack. Great.... It's not here. First I wake up in a strange room and now I am stranded without my backpack. If I had a dollar for every time this has happened I would have three dollars.

A light turned on in front of the door and light filled into the room. Footsteps came towards the doorway. The doorknob turned slowly as I went back to the area where I had woken up and pulled the blankets over my head. The door creaked open showing the shadow of a man. A hand came through the small opening holding a lantern. The door opened even wider and the man stepped through. I closed my eyes as the footsteps came closer and closer. He stopped and hovered over me.

"How stupid do you think I am?" the man said in a low voice. "It's easy to see you aren't asleep." This is the only chance I have to escape so I took it. "Hey get up!" He pulled the covers off of me and took a handful of dirt and through it into the man's eyes. He should be blinded for the next 17 seconds enough time for me to run out of the room.

As I closed and jammed the door, I heard a cough behind me. I turned around to see a group of seven people staring at me. The brunette girl in the middle smiled at me and I froze. That smile was too familiar. "Oh you can continue on if you want. I will just wait and watch."

"Where am I?" I asked.

"Where are you? You don't remember?" She replied. I shook my head. "Typical of Caleb, not telling you anything. I am Emma Grayson, and this is Disaster Recovery section IFT. Or team D.R.I.F.T for short."
