Myra thought she’d crumble and fall, but held firm. Really? Another shocking revelation?! Seriously? Why do they keep doing this to her? She screamed in her head.
"Hi, welcome to VD Group," Julz extended her hand with a warm smile, showing perfect white teeth. Her makeup was simple yet alluring.
"Thanks," Myra reciprocated the gesture. She didn’t know how she managed to stay calm. "S-sh she's so gorgeous," she turned to Davey and he smiled.
"She's nice, I like her already," Julz said clinging to him.
Wow, only because she had no idea she was in love with her husband and planning to steal him, Myra thought indignantly. Yes, she was seething.
Still confused she watched him see her off to the door.
His wife! How the hell is this beauty his wife? Dang it Karen! She had lots of explaining to do.
At the door she reached up and kissed him, Myra looked away quickly she couldn't stand to watch because deep down she was raging with jealousy.
"I thought the woman in that painting is your wife holding your son," Myra said when he returned to face her.
He turned to the painting, gave Myra a funny look and laughed. "You thought that? Great, I married my grandmother when I was four."
"Yo-ur grandmother? Oh my God and that was you? I-I didn't know that," she blushed.
"I didn't expect you to know that either. Why would you even think that?" He took a seat.
"I had no idea," she laughed trying to hide her humiliation.
"Anyway Myra, what exactly can I do for you?"
Tell him how you feel. Tell him you love him. Tell him you want him to be with you. This is your chance, right here.
"I'm sorry, I thought Sean would be here, it's him I actually wanted to see," she lied and regretted it immediately.
"Oh really," he raised an eyebrow. "I have no idea where Sean is at the moment."
"It's okay, sorry to have bothered you," Myra smiled and headed for the door, her legs felt like jelly.
"Myra?" He called her half way to the door, she paused.
"Good job on signing Warren Walsh."
She blushed again. "Thank you." She could see he was genuinely pleased with her work but was her plans of making him fall in love with her already in ruins? He was married to perfection for God’s sake!
Two hours later she entered her office to find Sean sitting on her sofa legs crossed. Sean was the last person she wanted to have a conversation with at that moment. After this morning's discovery her head was still spinning.
"Looks like someone's got plenty of time on their hands today," she crossed over to her desk and sat down.
"Actually I don't," Sean got up and took a seat on the edge of her desk. "By the way, you look sexy today."
She ignored him but instead gave him a look that said "get your butt off of my desk" but he didn't budge.
"Davey gave me the impression you eagerly wanted to see me this morning so I'm here now."
"Ah yeah, never mind that."
"So you don't need me anymore?" He grimaced.
"No, I don’t." Sean would most of the time tease her acting all serious, sometimes he flirted with her, he thought it was amusing but she had to come to know that part of him as annoying.
"O-kay," he got up to leave.
"See you later, Sean."
"How about that dinner date? Would it be possible tonight? I know this fantastic place, superb atmosphere, great seafood…"
"Sorry, not tonight," she smiled.
"You keep rejecting my offers, Myra..."
"I’ve got a lot on my plate, Sean."
"Alright, I won't give up though…"
"And I believe you."
"Whatever."
"Um wait...what about Davey? Is he still in the office?"
"Yeah but not for long, we have this meeting in thirty minutes."
"I see."
Sean returned and sat by the side of her desk again. "You usually have this glow when you say his name."
"W-what?"
"You do like him, don't you? I've seen the way you look at him."
"Don't be ridiculous Sean, I do like him but not that way...he's married to this gorgeous lady for God's sake."
"You've seen Julz?"
"Yeah, I met her this morning."
"You know...she stole his heart right from the very beginning, he's damn crazy about her...fucking crazy! They have this unique love story," he laughed.
"Really?" She asked sarcastically.
"Yeah."
"Does she work here? I mean in VD Group?"
"Not exactly, she runs the VD charity on the 8th floor."
"I see."
"Yeah," he got up from her desk. "I could tell you more if you'd agree to have dinner with me tonight."
"Nice try Sean, but I've got loads of work to finish."
"Alright alright, it was worth a shot," he said as the door closed behind him.
