She was hearing voices but she couldn't figure out whose voices they were, couldn't understand what they were saying. She tried to open her eyes but it was difficult so she fell into another deep sleep.
She woke up and realized she was in the hospital. She had suffered extensive injuries to her entire body, except her head, spine and arms. She was in so much pain and didn’t understand what was going on. At that moment Karen walked in.
"Oh my gosh! She's awake," she smiled but Myra didn't miss the worried lines on her face.
"What happened?"  She managed to ask.
"You had an accident," tears gathered in her eyes.
She looked around the room; there were so many flowers on the table near her bed. "How long have I been here?"
    "Three days."
    "Three days? How come?"
At that moment Sean walked in holding more flowers. "Hi sleeping beauty, you finally opened your eyes." You could tell he was so relieved.
"Sean has been coming here for the last three days and hardly leaves your bedside," Karen said.
"Which city is this?" She winced in pain.
"Boston. You're in Boston Myra," Sean replied.
“Boston? I'm supposed to be in New York."
"You were in New York but you were flown back here two days after the accident."
     Davey? What happened to Davey?!
Suddenly she began to remember the events of the last few days and she screamed and cried hysterically.
"Hey, it's okay," Sean tried to placate her but couldn't.
Karen quickly called in the nurse who asked them to leave so Myra wouldn't be upset any further. Karen kissed her on the forehead and promised she'd see her later.
Myra stared at the ceiling of the now empty hospital room; it was clear now the incident that actually happened.
They landed in New York, checked into the Intercontinental, their rooms were on separate floors and she wasn't too pleased about that. She had thought they would get a room on the same floor or opposite each other. After checking in they headed off for the meeting with the Chinese investors, which actually went pretty well, they won them over.
Davey was proud and impressed by how well she performed in the meeting and didn’t hesitate to tell her immediately. As they left the venue of the meeting he informed her they would have dinner later that evening to celebrate and she was excited.
Just then his phone rang and he excused himself to take the call. When he joined her again he told her he had to be somewhere else that she should go back to the hotel without him.
Myra got to the hotel around five thirty five, since they would be having dinner she expected him to be back around six thirty, seven o'clock. She quickly showered and got dressed in an off shoulder lacy floor length evening dress that emphasized her boobs and a long slit that exposed her left leg.
After waiting for eternity for him to call or even come knock on her door she decided to call him. No response! Myra checked the time, it was nine twenty. She became bitter and angry that he would stand her up like this without any excuse. She walked up to his door and knocked. She knocked four times before a response came, she thought it sounded like a woman's voice but she wasn't sure.
The door swung open and Myra almost collapsed when she discovered who stood there. What was she doing here?  Cladded in a white bathrobe, hair wrapped in a towel, she still looked damn amazing.
    "Hello Myra."
"Hi...Julz! When did you arrive in New York?"
"Yesterday actually, I had some charity events to take care of," she smiled. "Do come in."
    "Um...I shouldn't really. I just..."
"Hey Myra, come in." Davey came into view from the bathroom, also in a bathrobe, hair damp.
They must have showered together. Now feeling uncomfortable in her dress she held the dress tightly together to cover her exposed thigh. She entered and her gaze swept the room, resting more on the rumpled sheets, duvet covers were off. Suddenly a lump formed in her throat, she needed a drink badly!
Julz went straight and sat on the bed.
"Look I'm sorry; I should have called to say we'd be late for our dinner this evening."
"It was my fault actually I caused the delay," Julz added, smiling mischievously.
Myra laughed derisively inward, of course she initiated it.  They must have come back to the hotel together, say about six forty seven.  So all the time she was waiting for him they were busy...
"We could still go though, there's still time,” Davey checked his wrist watch. “You can go wait for us at the hotel lobby while we get dressed."
"No no it's fine. I just came to see if everything was okay with you."
Julz got up from the bed, "come on Myra, I insist. Go wait for us at the lobby, we'll be down in twenty," she flashed a smile.
As she left their room for the lobby she was enraged with anger and jealousy, why didn't he mention his wife was in town and would be joining them? She rushed to the elevator; when she reached the floor she wanted, instead of entering the lobby she turned to the hotel bar. She had two drinks in quick successions.
There was no way she could have dinner with both of them together, she wouldn't be able to sit through dinner and watch them openly display their affection for each other without going crazy and revealing the fact that she was in love with him right there in front of Julz.
She decided she was going out elsewhere to calm herself down, furious with herself for falling for him, angry with him for making her feel less important, her head spinning she dashed onto the busy street unaware of an oncoming vehicle. She was hit by the unsuspecting driver, after that everything was a blur.
