Josh tells his story to Tyler, every tiny detail included. Tyler's right, it does feel nice to tell someone about your problems. He talks to Tyler for minutes but it turns into an hour and the angel listens to all of it without comparing or questioning anything.
He's proud of Joshua for opening up to him about something so serious, he wouldn't have ever expected the demon to actually let him in.
"And when I went out to the forest to hunt, I saw a deer," Josh whispers, his eyes turn glossy as tears form.
Demons don't cry Josh, they're strong, you're strong, don't fucking cry, Josh thinks to himself.
"Then another appeared, it looked dead... it had a gunshot wound on its side, suddenly I heard a loud shot too. Then little me appeared with my dad, I was reliving the first time I went hunting with my dad, I couldn't bring myself to go back out there so I tried getting Blurry to hunt for me but he fuckin wouldn't do it and then you came along," Josh explains. He sighs deeply and stares down at the floor.
"I just want to know if they're alive and well without me," Josh says, his voice barely above a whisper. The tone was broken, sad, numb even. Just completely emotionless.
For Josh that's the worst feeling, the feeling of not having the effort to do anything, you're tired but you can't sleep, all you feel is numb. You can't even speak, your voice doesn't go above a whisper but you don't care. You just stay in one spot rethinking things, or thinking nothing. You feel frozen, dead even.
"They sure as fuck ain't going to hell, maybe when you get back up there, ask the big man how they're doing for me," Josh whispers. A small smile appears on Tyler's lips. Josh is being kind to him. Well, sorta. He's being emotional.
"I do not think I am going back anytime soon," Tyler says softly, feeling doubtful. Josh just hums in response.
The two stay still, not saying a word. Tyler glances over at the red head and stares at him with a it's okay type of look. Josh ignores him and keeps his eyes on the ground.
"It is okay to cry you know," Tyler blurts out. Josh looks at him, he rubs the tears away and sniffs a bit.
"Not crying, I don't fucking cry," Josh mumbles while crossing his arms over his chest and stares at Tyler.
"There is nothing wrong with it Joshua. It feels nice to let everything out. When I don't cry for a few months I cry like a waterfall," Tyler explains. Josh just lets out a sad laugh and shakes his head no.
"You won't ever see me cry," Josh grumbles. Tyler nods his head slightly and turns his attention to the floor.
Josh suddenly walks away, Tyler watches as Josh's tail drags across the floor. The angel lets out a sigh, he just wants to make sure everything's okay with the demon.
Josh walks to the bedroom, he shuts the door once he enters the room and collapses on the bed. He hates feeling weak, he feels like Tyler's even stronger than him and that's not a good thing.
Fucking Satan just had to be a bitch to him huh? Fan-Fucking-Tastic! Now he's going to fail being bad because he's to depressed to do shit and he'll be stuck as a stupid fucking human or something.
He rather be in hell then in the new house with two strangers. Who cares if Tyler is nice? Who cares about Blurry too? Not Josh, they mean nothing to him.
Absolutely nothing. Tyler's just a weak broken boy and the fact that the brunette is making Josh feel weak, isn't fucking good.
Josh stares at the wall, he curls up in a ball, his tail wraps around himself, he shuts his eyes and tries to block out everything.
Tears slowly fall, he opens his eyes for it to be blurry. Soon his cheeks are soaking and he's a sobbing mess. Josh cries.
He hasn't cried ever since the incident at school when he was a human. After that he became tougher, crying as a demon is stupid and you never fucking do it unless you want to get messed with for the rest of your life. Literally, Josh can't die when he's in hell. He can get killed but he basically would respond somewhere new as if he was in a video game.
Josh feels himself shaking, he lets it all out quietly. A shaky breath leaving his lips, tears run over his lips so he tastes the saltiness.
The demon tries to curl up even tighter, he tucks his arms between his chest and legs to feel safe. His tail protectively wraps around his body tighter, his wings doing the same as they fold over his body, covering his face, torso and some of his thigh.
He doesn't want to be spotted crying, he could use the excuse that he was napping and the sun was in his eyes, or he was cold.
There are a few options he could use but his tear stained cheeks would probably give him away right away. Josh cries for a while until he finally calms down, he shuts his eyes and tries to even his breathing.
His cheek is against a wet pillow, wet from his tears. Slowly Josh begins slowly drifting off into a deep slumber.
The door of the room slowly opens, Tyler peaks his head inside and tiptoes his way over to the bed, he quietly closes the door with his foot and crawls onto the bed. Tyler lies a few inches away from Josh, he curls up in a ball as well and his wings fold over his body to hide his face. Tyler knows that when he's sad it's not always good to be alone so he decided he would leave poor old Joshua to cry alone or be alone.
Tyler shuts his eyes and drifts off to sleep right next to the demon. The two sleep peacefully next to each other.
Josh rolls onto his other side and in his sleep he sticks out his arm and grabs Tyler, pulling him closer. Tyler wakes up at the sudden movement and blushes.
Josh better not blame him for this, it's all Josh.
