the glass figurine stands tall once again
beautiful, elegant, a sight to behold
not everyone admired her like people back then
'Saw her as copper rather than gold

the glass figurine did believe in herself
she saw herself on a pedestal under a spotlight
but their words left her dusty on a high shelf
where she was left all day and even overnight

She cried, "Please! Be gentle. I am beautiful yet fragile."
They just laughed and continued to play with her
Throwing her around, catching it, trying to be agile
Only for her to land hard on the hard wooden floor

They ran away, snickering and high-fiving
As she lay on the floor, sobbing and crying
She hoped that one day, she'll piece back together
To be the beautiful glass figurine she was, only better
