Chapter 5 - Petting a cat

Going home from school as usual they were together just by walking in the streets. Nishikata is busy with his phone and Takagi looks at him as if he never talked to her, she thought there's some problems between their relationship. Along in their way there's a kitten wondering on the streets. They ignore just at it seems it has nothing to do with them although Takagi looks up to that kitten even though they passed through it. Little didn't they know that kitten is about to cross the road to another street. Takagi curiously looked back to that kitten, a car was about to hit it then suddenly Takagi went up to stop the car. The driver didn't actually saw the kitten crossing on the road.

Whew! That was really close. Said Takagi.

That kitten looks so poor. I feel bad crossing in the road alone without its parents. Said Nishikata.

Gladly the kitten wasn't hurt. After awhile it started to rain and was about to go hard as it is. They went somewhere safe to stay on as they saw a bus stop. They sat on with the kitten they bought

Ahh he's wet! I'll have to wipe him off. Said Takagi.

I never thought you were so warm at animals huh, Takagi.

Do you adopt animals in your house? He questioned.

Eh? A-Adopt? I-I never had one before. Shyingly she said with a blushing face.

Then... would you adopt that one? Nishikata asked.

Really? Then why is it like you wanted to keep that kitten? based on what you said earlier.

No I seriously can't do that.

Nishikata laughed off then said: You don't know much about cats do you Takagi? Or maybe... You don't know about animals.

Of course I do. I-I just thought that kitten was a male because you can look on her front face, see?

Hmm? And what explains that? Said Nishikata.

You see, on tv cats have different shapes based on their face. You'll definitely figure out if it's a boy or a girl. Takagi explained.

Is that so? Then that questions you... She got no balls. Nishikata said again showing it to Takagi as she disgusted.

So then... you wanna keep her?

Absolutely no. I can't let her in my house, either on my room.

Then... possibly she'll just pee and messed up your room was the reason you're not keeping her?

THAT'S NOT HOW IT IS! She said.

Well if she had parents. They might actually have a hard time searching for her... I feel bad for this kitten to have been left out by her own family. She said.

Nishikata then stares at her realizing she had a warm heart on animals even though she doesn't wanna keep the kitten. As he decides once the rain stopped they'll look for the parents of the kitten.

Hey now, once the rain stops we'll look for her parents. That make you feel better? Nishikata said.

Takagi nodded... And as the rain stops they quickly searched for the kitten's parents. Not simply easy that they can find the parents til the kitten reacted and quickly jumped off from Takagi's arms.

Wha! The kitten got away. She said.

Well then let's follow her and get her.

As they take a left side was that the kitten finally found her owner. Takagi shooked over that the kitten they've been taking care of had an owner. The owner cried when she finally found her kitten which actually the parents of the kitten was with her.

She had... an owner. Along with her real parents.

Ha! That was a quite twisted happy ending. Nishikata said.

Along their way home Nishikata saw Takagi was so sad that she never get to play with that kitten although she was keeping her dry out from the rain.

Hey Takagi.

Hm? Yeah Nishikata? Said Takagi as she was sad.

Well I think if you could have keep that kitten. The owner will be much worried about her right? He said.

Yeah, as simply why I can't decide to keep her.

Hm Hm... Then Takagi, I'll be your neko chan for the rest of your life. Isn't that great. Nishikata said cheering for her to be happy with it.

You idiot! just shut up already. Takagi said with a grumpy face while Nishikata laughs at her.
