I opened the house door gently so my parents wouldn't hear me coming.
But that failed. I was embraced in a hug by my parents who were as frightened as I was.
"Harlow, come in the living room so we can talk to you. How are you, darling?"
I'm obviously not okay.
"I'm fine, Mum." I said, quite bluntly.
I sat down on the sofa in the living room and got ready for the lecture I was going to given by my parents.
Well, they are going to tell me off any second now.
"Look, honey, we know it wasn't you."
I looked at them, confused. "You believe me?"
My dad nodded. "When we got the call, we were confused because you are a really good girl." He spoke, placing his glasses on the coffee table.
I grimaced at that comment. I don't think I am a "good girl" anymore. When was I even a good girl to begin with?
I spoke. "So, Flora did it. Not me. She framed me. I didn't know how she got my locker number. She's making me look like a bad person when I am not."
My mum stroked my arm in comfort.
"We know. But your safety is the number one priority for us. We can't risk you getting verbally hurt. You've hear what happens on t.v. and we are scared for your safety in school."
I looked up smiling.
"Can you maybe transfer me to another school?" I begged.
"We can't. We just moved here and other schools are farther away from where we live. Hopefully, it won't go to the extreme."
But things are getting worse.
Much worse.
All of a sudden, I broken glass was heard in our shed, in the back garden. I ran to the garden, finding the shed window glass all smashed with a brick on the ground with a note attached to it.
I picked up the note and read it while squinting my eyes. Whoever wrote this had bad hand-writing.
Your parents must be so disappointed for raising a thieving twat like you!
I could hear my mother shouting hysterically in the background as she was speaking to the police.
My eyes started welling up while holding the note in my hand. This is what happens when you trust someone too much. All this was caused by her.
I threw the note, covering my face in misery and ran up to my room.
I ignored my parents who were yelling at me to come back down.
I was lying on my bed just thinking about what will happen when I enter school tomorrow.
I don't want to go to school but...
I need to confront Flora.
All this thinking made me tired and made me forget to even eat.
But I was too tired to go and get food.
Before I knew it, sleep took over me in a few minutes.
Morning registration of school:
I walked into registration with the whole class staring at me with hatred and disgust.
Then I see Flora.
That cow.
Who sat next to Stephanie. She took MY place.
