A/N I know I'm writing two stories at once, but I couldn't wait to start this one, it's meant to be a little more upsetting than the other one, but I'm not sure it will be that good, so vote and comment to let me know what you thought :)

I also wanted to dedicate my story to my two best friends ever who are characters in the story (Emily and Rachel) who also write amazing stories, so check them out @lightningandmoments for Rachel's and @anappetitelikenialls for emilys

enjoy...

RACHEL'S POV

I was sat in the dreaded waiting room of the hospital again. My teachers had been noticing that I was always moaning about a migrane, so they suggested to my dad that I go and get checked out. They would have told my mum but she was a cheating slut who ran off with my geography teacher, but that's a completely different story.

Anyway, the doctors were concerned as my migranes were becoming more intense, so they took  a blood sample a week ago, and today is when I find out the resuts. My dad had an important meeting, so I told him to stay at work and I'd tell him the results when I go home, telling him I would take my best friend Emily with me instead.  Emily was usually late to everything, but she was especially early, she didn't want me to face the results alone.

I felt a cold hand slip into my shaking hand, calming my nerves as I looked up into Emily's hazel green eyes, she always said the colour was messed up but I prefered it to mine, mine changed depending on the lighting. "Everything will be okay," Emily said, squeezing my hand to reassure me "whatever the results, we'll get through this together"

"Thankyou emily, it means a lot knowing you're here."

"Rachel Smith?"

"That's us!" Emily called, trying to be as chirpy as she could, but I could see that she was terrified of the results herself. Even I knew it wasn't going to be good, I constanty felt ill, and my migranes were getting worse and worse.

"Take a seat," Dr Mckenzie gestured to the two seats opposite his desk. "Now, we have the results of your blood test, and I have some news." my grip qickly tightened around Emily's as I felt my heart pounding against my chest "I am so sorry to tell you this, Rachel, as I am to any one, especially teenagers as young as yourself, but I'm afraid that you have cancer."

I couldn't believe what he'd just told me. CANCER?! HOW?! I WAS YOUNG AND FIT. THERE HAD TO BE A MISTAKE!

"I'm sorry, what?" Emily said, fighting back the tears.

"Miss Smith here shows signs of a brain tumour, which can be easiy treated with the right level of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and medication-"

"then why am I still sat here, sig me up!" I yelled, the first sign of hope I had, I didn't care about how sick it made me, or how my hair would fall out, I just needed to get better, I was all my dad had left. Sam had moved out, so had Billie, I couldn't leave him alone.

"I'm afraid it's not that simple, you see, the tumour accured a month ago, had we caught it then with the early signs, that would had worked, but we have found it too late, we can try chemotherapy, but..."

"But what Dr Mckenzie?" Emily said, letting a singe tear tricle down her face, but whipping it away, not letting anymore out

"It is very unlikely that it will work,"

"So you're saying I may never get better?"

"That is exactly what I'm saying, I am so sorry Miss Smith-"

"How long?" I asked, not even holding the tears badck now

"I'm sorry?"

"HOW LONG DO I HAVE?!" I screamed at him, never letting go of Emily's hand

"A month, two at the most if the medcation and treatment helps"

"I think I'm gonna be sick" Emily said as I wrapped my arms around her shoulder, sobbing into her neck

"I'll give you some time alone..." Dr Mckenzie exited, leaving me and Emily sobbing

"How are you going to tell everyone, what am I going to do without you?" Emily asked, gasping in between sobs.

"I don't know, Emily, but whatever it is, we'll get through it together, you me and dad, like a family"

The truth is, I was terrified, I'd just been told as Rachel Smith, a 16 year old school girl from the London had a brain tumour, and I wasn't going to reach my next birthday...

Present Day

EMILY'S POV

"OMG RACHEL!IT'S FINALLY HERE! WE ARE SEEING ONE DIRECTION IN LESS THAN 3 HOURS!!!" I squealled as Rachel did my make up.

"Hold still Emily!" she demanded,  I immediately responded with the sad puppy dog eyes that always won her over "Fine, OMG YES, I CAN't WAIT TO GO ADN HIDE IN A BIN FOR HOURS JUST TO CATCH A GLIMPSE OF THEM! OH WOULDN'T YOU JUST LOVE TO LICK LOUIS AND NIALL, MMM, IRISH AND ENGLISH SKIN, HEAVEN DON'T YOU THINK?" we both burst ou laughing at her impression of the other stalker kind of fans they had, we both knew that she was only playing, the truth was, she was more excited to see them than me because she would finally get to see her one true love, as did I. Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. Don't get me wrong, the others are amazing, but we always had a special connection with them. yeah, alright, they don't know who we are, but who cares, we all know THEY LOVE US!

"What's so funny?" Rachel's dad, Michael walked in carrying two glasses of coke and an envelope in his hand, a smug look on his face. Ever since Rachel found out she had a few weeks to live, we refused to let us be anything but cheerful for her sake, so we were always smiling, not remembering that Rachel would die soon.

"Oh nothing dad, don't worry, you wouldn't understand, what's that?!"

"Oh, just a present I got for my lovely daughter for tonight..." within seconds,Rachel had snatched it out her dads hands and as screaming

"What, what is it Rachel?" I asked, completely confused at what was happening.

"OMG, thankyou so much dad!" Rachel flung her arms around her dad, squeeing him tight "we, my dear Emily, have back stage tickets, get to go to the after concert party, and get to meet one direction!"

"OMG!! THIS IS HUGE! THANKYOU SO MUCH MR SMITH!"

"My pleasure girls, now go! Go have fun."

"Oh we will dad!" Rachel yelled as we ran for the door as our taxi beeped "BYE!"

We were psyched. Not only were we about to go see one direction in the front row, but w also got to meet them, omg, I am so happy. I knew this was on Rachel's before I die list, but I never thought it would come true.

"You know, this may be the best night if my life, a perfect way for me to-"

"Don't say it, Rachel, let's just enjoy tonight, yeah?"

"Okay" Rachel said happily as we sung live while we're young over and over again till we got to the concert...
