Once getting in the car Kaden didn't say much, he just kept looking at me; I pretended not to see. I drove to the nearest Waffle House it was 20 minutes away.
Once there Kaden was being such a gentleman, opening my car door before I could, opening the door to the restaurant, and pulling out my chair for me. It was odd being around this version of him.
We ordered our food and made small talk about school, the last time I talked to Kaden...
~Flash Back~
It's 6th grade, Kaden is my next door neighbor.. We hung out all the time, doing everything together. I had a huge crush on him, everyone knew.. everyone except Kaden.
I walked up to his front door and rung the doorbell with a small note in my hands. The note explained my feelings for him, told him everything..
The door suddenly opened to Stacey Hale. Stacey always hated me because she too liked Kaden and was jealous that we hung out all the time.
"What do you want.?" Stacey snarled.
"I-I need to talk to Kaden." I tried to say without sounding intimidated.
"Oh do you..? BABE! you have a visitor." She grinned.
Pause.. "babe".. babe.. She called Kaden babe.. no, it can't be true right.
Coming up behind her I see him.. Tall, brown hair spiked in different directions, hazel eyes, and a smile i'd kill for..
"Hey V what's up?" He says with a smile.
"Right um, K.. do you think we could have a minute.. alone.?" I asked with a pleading smile.
"No, I don't think so, anything you say to him can be said to his GIRLFRIEND." Stacey but in.
"girl.. girlfriend, I-I s-so happy for you k.." I tried to get out, but it came out all choppy like.
"V.. what's up? are you okay?" he genuinely sounded concerned.
Before I noticed tears were streaming down my cheeks.. I dropped the note on his porch, I started to walk away
"hey." he said grabbing my arm "what's up?? are you okay??" he kept asking
"Is it really that hard to tell I'm in love with you, it's always been you.." I said in a whispering tone.
I removed his hand from my arm and darted home..
He and Stacey continued to date for three years or so off and on, I haven't heard much about them two being exclusive in high school yet though.
That day was the last time I spoke to Kaden..
~End of Flash Back~
We pulled back up to Morgans, everyone was just waking up.
"Hey thanks for letting me come today.." he said looking down.
"It was the least I could do, you helped me last night just returning the favor." I replied with a light smile and got out of the car.
