Eden POV:

"You're crazy," I accuse Dean as I continue to snack on my peanut M&M's.
"Oh, I'm crazy?" He retorts while his eyes stay on the road.
"Halloween is the better slasher film, that's just facts," I respond.
The road to Colorado was long and tiring, the only thing keeping me entertained was annoying Dean. Mel fell asleep and so did Sam not to long after she did.
"I'm done with this conversation." He replies and turns the radio up higher. I only smirk feeling slightly proud knowing how easy it is to get under his skin sometimes.
Sam suddenly jumps and wakes up from his little nap.
"You okay?" Dean asks while looking between his brother and the road.
"I'm fine." Sam replies slightly out of breath.
"Another nightmare?" I question.
Sam only clears his throat in response.
"You don't have to be embarrassed, ya know, we're pretty much stuck together so if something's bothering you, you can just say it." I tell him but he only nods in response.
We sit in silence for a while until Dean breaks it.
"Wanna drive for a while?" He asks Sam.
Sam scoffed "Your whole life you've never asked me that."
"If you don't want to I'll jus-" Before Dean can finish his sentence I stop him.
"I'll drive" I slightly shout only for him to laugh in response, making me pout and slump in my seat.
"Look, nab," Sam pauses, "You're worried about me, and I get it, thank you, but I'm perfectly okay."
Sam is such a terrible liar. Melody is the exact same way.
I grab the map and examine it.
"Alright," Sam spoke, 'where are we?"
"Just outside Grand Junction" I respond. I sit back letting the boys talk among themselves while lightly shaking Mel awake.
"Hey sleepyhead, snack time." I say while pushing a bad of pretzels into her hands.
"How long was I asleep?" She asks me.
"About three hours," I respond while gathering my stuff "Grab your things we're stopping soon." Just as I tell her that, Dean pulls into the Ranger Station.
I take in the decorations around the station and look around with Mel.
"So, Black Water Ridge is pretty remote." Mel says out load while looking over a diagram of Lost Creek National Park. "It's cut off by canyons here, rough terrain, dense forests, abandoned siler and gold mines everywhere." She informs us.
"Dude, check out the size of this freaking bear," Dean said. I walk over to Dean's side and look at the picture with him.
"Wow, that is a huge bear." I agree, earning questionable looks from Mel and Sam.
"It's like they're six-year old's," Mel mumbles.
"And a dozen or more grizzlies in the area," Sam says while walking over to Dean and I staring at the picture. "It's no nature hike that's for sure."
"You aren't planning on going out to Black Water Ridge by chance?" The voice of a ranger makes us all turn around.
"Oh, no, Sir. We are Environmental Study majors from U.C. Boulder, just working on a paper," Sam comes to our rescue.
"Recycle, man," Dean fist pumps causing me to roll my eyes.
"Bull," The ranger says. "you're friends with that Haley girl, right?"
"Yes" The lie comes out before I can process what he said.
"Yes, we are, Ranger Wilkinson," Dean continued.
"Who's Haley?" Mel whispers to me but I only grab her wrist to signal it's best to not ask questions.
"Well, I'll tell you exactly what I told her," Ranger says "Her brother filled out a back country permit saying he wouldn't be back from Black Water till the 24th. So, it's not exactly a missing persons, is it?" Dean and I shook our heads. "Tell that girl to quit worrying, I'm sure her brother's just fine," Wilkinson finished.
"We will" I said while smiling at the older man.
"That Haley girl's quite the pistol, huh," Dean comments.
"That is putting it mildly," Wilkinson states while nodding his head.
"You know what would help," I say while smiling kindly at the ranger, "is if I could show her a copy of that backroad country permit. So, you know, she could see her brother's return date."
The ranger thinks for a moment before nodding and grabbing us a copy.
"Thank you" I say while walking out with everyone.
"Are you cruising for a hook-up or something?" Sam angrily asks Dean.
"What do you mean?" Dean asks as we gather around the Impala.
"We have the coordinates to Black Water Ridge, so what are we waiting for? Lets just go find Dad! I mean, why even talk to this girl?" Sam states while beginning to argue with his brother.
I stand next to Mel with me hands in my pockets "You think we can have a Halloween break from these two?" I ask her since the Holiday is near.
"I don't know, think of all the group costume idea's" She jokes.
"Maybe we can be the Scooby-Gang." I say while walking back to the Impala "Can we leave already?" I shout at the boys.
