Knock Knock Knock

Angel's heart skipped a beat heart. She was frightened, for she was deep in thought when she heard the knock at her door. "Coming!" Trying to calm herself, Angel reached for her door. As light pierced through, Angel saw a lady, one that brings back bad memories. "Hello Sam, what do I owe the pleasure to have you come to my humble home?"

Without a word, Sam barged in. She acted as if she had lived in this home for years. "Valens." Sam was short, her voice cut off, discussed with his name."

"What about him?" Angel asked, curious of the answer.

Sam sits down and crosses her legs. "Valens, as we all know, has a little cursed girl." She pauses, taking a deep breath of air. "Well, there's a rumor going around that he is teaching this young creature to be like us. Is this true?"

Angel froze. How must she answer this question without hurting her or her boss? Then she remembered... "Teaching a cursed child to be like us? Well, that can't be, that must be agents the law, Correct?"

"You didn't know of this? You're his maid, how come you don't know what your master has been doing?" curious, Sam asked, questioning how a woman; one that's around him all the time, doesn't know of what he may have been doing.

"I am, but you see it's getting close to when I shall birth my first child. I haven't seen my master in weeks, he had let me off till my child is born so I can rest. Plus, he said something about getting the child settled in, I thought he was talking about teaching her about the home rules and what she will be doing for the young master. I never thought Mister Burnhard, of all people, would do something this outrageous."

Sam smile as she lowered her head to the floor. "Tis' just a rumor, we can't believe everything we hear. Though I still do fear he is making a mistake. How must we find out, any ideas?"

Angel looked to the sky, thinking. "Maybe we can test him? Why don't we do something that causes him to make a decision? But there's a catch, he can't know that he's being tested."

"Oh, that is brilliant!" Sam yelled in excitement. "I know just the thing. Why don't we take the girl?"

"Take the cursed girl? Do you mean we should, like, kidnap her?"

"Yes, I think if we take the girl, we can test him. If he comes to save the girl, the rumors have a higher percent of being true; but if he doesn't save her, the rumors are nothing but a small tale of lies."

Her stomach turned. How could she ever think of kidnapping a small child? "Well..." Angel knew the consequences for this, and she wasn't sure if she was willing to take them. Kidnapping a cursed child is like stealing someone's property, its illegal. But then she remembered, the only reason she didn't put Sam out on her butt, is because she wants to know if Valens is a good man. "Okay, I will help you with this, but I will only help you get the girl; in no way shall I be considered apart of this. I am only a peasant, they won't be kind to me. Their punishment will be harsh, I can't be punished. You though, you're the wife of the man who runs the auction, you will most likely be let off."
Sam began to show great zealous over herself. "Well, I can't deny a statement like that." She crossed her legs as she stared off into the distance. It was like she was looking in a mirror that just told her she was the fairest of them all. "How do you plan to do this, if I may ask?"
"I will go back and start the day off as normal..." With no hesitation, Angel explained the plan in full detail. Sam was silent, her mind was focused on the task ahead of her... Get Emer. "Alright, do you understand? Know what you're doing?"
"Yes."
"Okay, tomorrow I will go back to work and do as I would. Then when the time comes, in a week or more, you pounce. Got it?"
Sam nodded, "got it." Then one by one, they left.
Sam went off to her husband; acting as if nothing happened. Angel, she went off to her other house, Valens house. They, in secret, began their devious plan of kidnapping Emer, all they have to do now is get in their starting positions.
