"Hello, is anyone home?" Angel called out. The room echoed for a moment, then became silenced with air. "Mister Burnhard, are you home? I would like to apologize." Again there was no answer. Since Angel was back, she decided to get back to work like normal, hoping that Valens and Emer will show up soon.
She began with the kitchen, cleaning every plat and counter, leaving no dust behind. Then once she finished that, she went to the bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs. Valens room was locked, like usual, and Emers seemed clean. But, even though it looked clean, Angel thought it would be best if she 'dusted'. It would be a good opportunity to plot out the week points of Emer and her bedroom. She noticed the window opens in a way that could easily let intruders in, which was a good sign. Next, she looked through Emer's dresser. One thing she didn't expect was, Emer had brand new clothes and had some book; ones about bird and gardening.
"Wow, it looks so clean in here!" Burnhard walked in noticing the clean house. "Whoever did this must be some sort of cleaning master."
"Why thank you, sir." Angel leaned agents the wall as she stood on the stairs. Her smile became big. She couldn't contain her excitement of seeing her boss and her student. "Well, Emer, are you ready?"
Emers eyes sequined. "Ready for what?"
"Your lesson of course. I'm back, meaning that you will start your lessons where we left off. So, why don't you sit down and get ready, I need to talk to Mister Burnhard for a moment."
"Yes, mam." She nodded, grabbing her paper that she folded into her pocket. Her words were smudged together making it hard to read what she had written before. This was an amazing day. First, she got to follow Valens around as he worked. Then, she got home, finding out her teacher was back and ready for action. Nothing can ruin this moment of joy in Emer's heart, she was filled past the brim.
"Alright Emer, let us start with your writing since you already have everything ready for it." Angel placed her body on the chair across from Emer; crossing her arms and her legs, relaxing her body. "Let us start with the first letter; the letter A."
The leaded pencil moved, scratching away at the light brown paper. Every time she wrote the letter she would whisper, "A makes the sound ah, like an apple." For hours Emer sat in attention, learning things that bring her joy. She was becoming more and more intelligent. Emer was learning fast, which was needed. Emer was close to turning the age of five and that is a big event that Valens is awaiting for. They only have two more months before the next school year begins and Emer needs to be enrolled, then the plan will begin. They will trick the school, then show the world what cursed people are capable of.
"Okay Emer, let's go and begin dinner." She nodded and they began. It's going to be hard, but Angel has to know. She has to know if she can trust the man whom takes the title of 'bestfriend', for the man she gives her heart to. "It will begin next week."
"What will?" Emer asked, overhearing Angels whisper to herself.
"Oh, nothing dear, I was just thinking to myself, pay no mind to it."
Emer smiled. "Okay."
