Rain

The sun sets

Behind the mountain

Moon comes out to shine

The stars twinkle

Against the dark sky

The dark green grass, moist

After a gentle rain

The mud soaks

Through my shoes

The bench was wet

Still water dripping from it

I sit and the water soaks my jeans

I feel the tears

Drip down my cheek and fall off my chin

You came to me, unknown

I felt your shirt wet

As my tears stained it

Soon the rain

Wasn't the only thing dropping

Your arms squeezed tighter around me

I should've had more appreciation

For now you've gone

Even though I realized

I love you
