I remember the warm summer
Going back home
Is and was
The worst mistake
For I was already home
I should've stayed longer
I want to hug you
Just once more
I remember
Eating watermelon
You one half
Me the other
I remember
Your laugh
When anyone did something
Ridiculous
I also remember
The hospital
Your blood
Flowing through a tube
The doctors telling news
And me not able to hear
You were like my mother
You were my mother
I was your daughter
I should've stayed longer
If only I had known
That was our last summer
