The emotional disturbed daughter of the inmate stands in the room, her eyes locked at the sleeping figure she calls her mother. She skims the text she holds in her hands.

In the file she finds all information of Leiko's development. All medicaments that woman in front of her had to take in her life, they were all wrong calculated. [Name] was the best in pharmacy on her university, she knows the correct dose and the possible consequences of an over dosage.

The girl walks over to the patient's bed and gently removes the blanket covering the black haired woman. She seems so peaceful, her hand opening and closing, just like a baby grabbing the finger of an adult.

It's almost as when [name]'s horrible childhood never happened. The woman who is sleeping there in the white cushioned bed shares no facial features of the one she lived with as a toddler and child.

Is she really my mom?

[Name] grits her teeth averting her gaze from the woman. No, she can't be weak now.

I need to focus on my work

With a long pause of breathing she inhales the oxygen and opens the file again. Her [color] eyes forced to look at the check-up papers.

A physical examination, that's all she has to do. Temperature, blood pressure, pulse, cardiac frequency, pupillary light reflex. The doctor fishes out a pen and gets herself a chair.

Over thinking it for several times, she decides to sit next to the bed. Leiko must be awake, otherwise the results could be incorrect.

[Name] just stares at her mother's up and down moving chest.

Should I wake her?

She has no other choice, she wants this to be over as soon as humanly possible. She bites down on her power lip, the pressure being so hard that her lips are colored crimson by her blood.

The young woman reaches out her hand, shaking her mother whose expression becomes pained.

"Yasuo," she mumbles in her slumber. "Yasuo. . . don't die on me."

Okāsan, Otōsan. . .

It is too much for her to see. Leiko even thinks about her deceased ex-husband in her dreams. After all those years, sixteen years has passed since his death and she is still desperate to see Yasuo.

[Name]'s hands balls into fists. She kneels down on the edge of the bed, shaking Leiko's body.

"Mother, mother, wake up!" She yells at the raven haired female.

"[Name]," she says, still in trance of her sleep. Not one eye has opened, she is still asleep.

"Gomennasai, [name]." She mutters and lifts up her body to sit up. Her green eyes, the girl sees them again, looking so innocent.

It is by now that the neurologists has noticed the catheter on her mother's hand. She looks dull, seeming awake but is completely influenced and controlled by the drug flowing in her veins.

"Mother," she calls out to her, but no answer. The woman just stares blankly at [name] like she is air. The girl listens to the breaths the woman takes. The noises of the cardiac frequency screen filling the silence.

"Leiko," [name] sighs. "What have they done to you?" She mumbles writing down the black haired woman's heart rate and pulse.

Three years, huh? Three years she lives without even knowing a single bit of her day.

The haloperidol effects kill every bits of her memories. Just how high did they make the dosage?

Leiko's body gets more tense and she reaches for something. Her hand directly in front of the [color] eyes of her daughter.

Her fingertips touching the neurologist's cheek. [Name] is silent, she leans against the touch.

"Mo-mother, it's me, [name]," she says, tears streaming.

"I am your daughter."

She isn't the woman who hit me, not any more. . .

"Temperature, 97°." She writes down, removing the hand.

"Pulse, normal. Heart rate, slightly over average."

The [color] haired female takes out a flash light and stands up, her fingers opening the eyelids of her mothers green eyes wider.

"Pupillary reaction. . . why am I even surprised?" She groans and shakes her head. The anger rising within her. The anger and hatred she felt towards her mother, blown away by such cruel image. How can doctor's say they want to help? They only set somebody who does not function on drugs to prevent their patients to actually live.

Without any hesitation she rips out the needle that was stuck in her mother's hand back.

"I guess I'll never find out . . ." she says making her way towards the door.

"[Name]-Chan." Leiko mumbles. "Yasuo, don't leave her." She says in a begging voice. She shifts in her bed, her feet touching the ground as she runs over to the frozen woman.

"I'm begging you!" [Name]'s eyes widen, her heart beating at a high level.

"Let go!" A voice grumbles.

Th-that can't be!
