"Ooooo, the campfire is loud, the campfire lit, lets all go round and share our..... STORIES!!"
"Haha Papa G, you know what you wanted to say" said Rachel.
"I knew what I wanted to say there Rachel, but I didn't say it out loud! Language like that was created for sailor, I'm a hunter!" Papa G replied.
"Me first Papa G, I'll go." Shouted Brobi.
We all gathered round a fire in front of the house, snuggled up with our blankets. We would do this every two weeks, it was a tradition Papa G had with his family when he was younger. It's been a month now since I let Brent go. This has been the hardest month of my life, but thank God I had Rachel here because she is always by my side, keeping me strong. Brobi has been really nice to me lately as well. He's been my hunting buddy now, helping me out. Having him stop bullying me has been a major stress reliever as well. I was starting to get used to everything here. I like it here its just, I have no idea where Brent is. I only pray that he's safe, and well.
"Well, there once was a Monster right?" Brobi said excitedly.
"Oh my Geez Brobi, when are you going to stop it with the monster stories!" Slinsky moaned.
"Yeah Brobi! Change it up will ya?" Shouted Papa G with a slight giggle.
Brobi paused for a moment....
"Okay... There once was a boy.. and he-He was always the boy that no one liked. His name was Chris! Yeah... Chris. So Chris was hated by everyone until, there was this one person. The only person that made Chris understand that... - The only person that meant something more to Chris. He felt unloved, he somehow thought in the back of his head, no one would ever love him. He doesn't entirely know if this person loves him, but for once he felt something... something unreal. So the moral is when you are deprived of hope... just know, it gets better."
Every one just stared at Brobi for a second after he was done telling his story. My mouth was open, and after a few seconds I finally closed it. Who was this person? I leaned off of Rachel.
"Brobi.. just out of curiosity, what's- what is your real name?" I said facing him, breaking the silence.
"Joey. It's joey. Joey Barracade, why?"
"Alright guys! Let's let this fire out here, early start tommorow! Hope you guys enjoyed the roasted deer, good catch Slinsky!"
We set out the fire and I left the logs out for me, Rachel, and Merona to sit down and enjoy a nice breakfast outside tommorow.
"Kelay, but them logs away!" Papa G Shouted before I was able to walk inside.
I went back outside to pick up the logs. Those things were not feathers must I say.
"Ouch!" I said, sucking my teeth at the pain. Darn log gave me a splinter!
"Do you need help blondie?"
I looked back and saw Brobi standing behind me, his arms crossed, with a slight grin. Of pity.
"Were you standing there the entire time, watching me struggle... joey?" I replied, standing back up, sucking on my finger with a slight grin.
"Maybe, blondie." He replied.
"You know what, it's only fair for you to call me by my real name Joey. It's not blondie, it's kelly. Say it with my kel-lee" I said ploping down on the log.
"Well what if I don't like your name?" he said ploping down next to me with a grin.
"Well... uh. I don't know."
"Hey what was up with your story today? It's like, you were a whole different person!"
"Is that why you asked me my real name?" He replied.
"Kinda..." I said.
"Well blondie, there are a lot of things you don't know about me." He replied.
"Tell me" I said.
He looked me straight into the eyes.
"Do you really wanna know?"
I didn't know what to say. He just stared so deeply into my eyes. I froze.
He leaned in closer to me and it made the on my back stand up. I didn't know what to do... I felt a slight rush and my heart started pounding a beat that was... timeless.
"Kelly?" I instantly turned around and saw Merona walking towards us from a far. I turned my head back to Joey, and he grabbed my hand and whispered in my ear...
"I'll tell you if you stay...."
