"So, how have you been?" I asked.
"I've been okay, i'm doing better." She replied.
"I see you don't pursue any of those bad habits anymore? Like drinking and smoking? I just want to let you know that I am very proud of you Chirstina. Very proud." I said. After I said that, the car broke into a silence.
"Did Ben cheat on you?" said Chirstina breaking the silence, facing me.
"Uhh- What? Why would you think that?" I asked, trembling.
"You finally found out, huh?" she replied.
"What? Christina what- what do you mean I finally found out? DID YOU KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON?" I asked in total shock.
"Why else do you think I would call him Benedick? Everyone knew why he would come home late." Christina replied with a faint chuckle.
"Except me obviously" I said. I could feel my face heating up as I said that. I knew the tears were only seconds away.
"I'm-i'm sorry I said it like that I just thought-"
"It's fine. Don't worry about it. Me and Ben are done. I don't ever want to-"
Ring Ring Ring.
Speak of the devil! Why is he calling me again? If he think he's going to-
"Your phones ringing" Christina said taking me out of my head talk.
"Oh yeah, I know! I know! I just don't want to answer it. Not the right time nor place" I replied.
"This is it. On the right!" Christina said.
"Is that girl waving in the front your friend?" I asked with a slight grin.
"Yeah, that's my friend Massie" she replied.
"Just pull up right here"
"Uh, before you leave, I just want to ask you something? I was thinking about going out for a nice lunch tommorow. Just you, me, Claire, and Joey? Do you mind? Are you comfortable with that? It will be really nice Christina, please?" I begged.
"Joey, my father?" she replied looking up at me.
"Yeah, of course if you are comfortable with that. So what do you say......? "
"I don't know about that" she said opening the door.
"You don't know about what? Hi Christina's mom! I'm Massie!" Massie said reaching through the now open door, shaking my hand.
"Nice to meet you Massie" I replied.
"C'mon Mass, let's go.." Christina said grabbing her arm.
"Wait! You don't know about what?" She said pushing Christina's hand off of her.
"Oh! She doesn't want to go out for lunch with me tommorrow!" I screamed through the still open door, reaching across the seat to push it open.
"Lunch? Lunch sounds great! Better than the cafeteria lunch right Chrissy? Do you mind if I come Christina's mom? We are totes going, my God! I love your mom!" She said excitedly. I looked over at Christina and she rolled her eyes.
"So Christina, what do you say?" I said looking at her. Both Massie and I were staring at her in anticipation.
"Fine" She said with with a groan.
"Yay! Yay! Yay! This should be so fun!" Massie said looking at Christina. Christina couldn't help but smile because of Massie's over excitement.
"Pick you guys up at twelve! Bye guys!" I said before driving off.
"Goodbye Christina's mom, your the best! Nice meeting you!" Massie said.
What a character. Tommorow should be fun. Christina was doing so much better, and the fact that she has friends like Massie to lift up her spirits made me smile. Maybe this rehab thing wasn't so bad. I'm starting to get my little Christina back.
Ring! Ring! Ring!
This joker again! I'm throwing my phone, he won't quit!
"HELLO? WHY DO YOU KEEP CALLING, STOP CALLING ME OKAY BEN?" I screamed through the phone.
"Kelly, where the hell are you at? I told you to meet me on Kroger street!" he screamed back into the phone.
"I'm not signing those papers Ben, and you can't make me! Okay?"
"You know what, that's fine! That's totally cool. You can know consult with my lawyer, i'm done! It's either you sign those papers are you go to jail, you choose!" he said before hanging up.
I rolled up to my house furiously. I had to move out. Everytime I come here I think of Ben. It's starting to become sickening. I went inside and stretched out on the couch. I just sat and thought about my life as a whole. Everything that was happening and what the future was looking like for me. Of course it was impossible to not think of Ben. I started to cry as I thought of all the memories we had together, and how he would be gone forever. Even thinking of divorce, makes me cringe. Papa G told me that if I got married, make sure it's someone you know you can stand for forever. Because marriage is supposed to be forever. I let him down. We let him down.
I got up and went to the kitchen to start dinner. The fact that I would be eating alone tonight didn't bother me because I would be having lunch with Christina tommorow, which made me so excited. Before I sat down to eat, I heard a strange noise which made me jump. I grabbed a knife and headed to investigate.
"Hello?" I screamed.
"HELLO?!" I screamed again. After I said that, I heard the noise again.
"IS ANYBODY IN HE-" I felt a hand come over my mouth, with a force holding me back.
"Don't say a word" someone whispered into my ear. I felt a sting to my thigh and before I knew it, I was out.
Snap! Snap! Snap! Who was it, why were they there? Is Kelly going to die? I want to keep going guys, I really do but I want to leave the suspense open! Updating before Thanksgiving break so get ready! Happy reading everybody :)
