"Uh Kelly, the court called earlier, they delayed the court case until next week when I told them what happen."
"What? With Rachel? That was quicker than I thought!" I replied.
"No, with Benard." Joey replied.
"Oh." I replied. This hurt like hell. I know what happend, and I'm definitely not elated about it but, I still care about him to an extent. Signing these papers is going to be tough.
"Hey guys, how's everything?" Analisa said walking in the door. She gracefully hanged her jacket up and glided over to kiss Joey. I either put my head down or just walked away when she did this. I think she feels intimidated by me because she knows our past.
"I had a lovely day hun, what about you?" Joey replied. They were still breached in eachothers faces.
"Joey, I had the best day of my life!" Analisa said jumping on the couch.
"Oh really? And why must that be?" He replied.
"Richard told me about this project that he wants me to be involved in at his office! Him and his team are going to do medical work in eastern Africa with the Reelna Association, you know? The one that we donate to every month?" She said with excitement.
"Wow honey, that's great! When?" He replied.
"Next week, Thursday. It would be such a honor to go! The only thing is, I would miss you a lot, we will be there for three whole months."
"I think- I think that's great Analisa." I butted in when their conversation silenced. When she said three months, I saw Joey's face flood inwards.
"What'd you say Kelly?" Analisa replied. I knew she heard me. She was so kind and polite, but I knew she had some type of vengeance for me.
"I said, I think its great- you know? My mother actually did some work abroad when I was younger." I replied. After I said that Joey walked himself into the room, and shut the door behind him.
"Joey? Joey, where are you going?" Analisa shouted, chasing after him. Later that night, I overheard them arguing. Analisa thought she was being silent, but I heard everything. She wanted me gone while she would be away. Joey thought that was totally roofless because I had only been staying their for a month, and Rachel's court date was still undecided.
"YouknowwhatJoey, I'vebeenpolitebutIcan'tletthisfly!"
"DamnitAnalisa! Shealmostdied, I'mnotwillingtoputherbackinthatdanger!"
"Why do you even care so much? Why? You should be caring about me, and what I think! Why Joey?"
"You just don't understand Analisa, I grew up with her. She is apart of my family!"
"You know what Joey! It's either me or her. You let her stay here while i'm gone, then don't worry about me coming back!"
I stood close by my bedroom door to hear everything.
"Analisa, Analisa! Where are you going?"
"Let me go Joey!"
A few seconds later, I heard the front door slam shut, making me jump. By this point, I felt guilty. I was the cause of Analisa leaving Joey, and he had told me that he had a hard time finding love. I knew it was a bad idea staying here with him.
The next day, I woke up early and packed my stuff. I didn't hear Joey and when I looked around the house, he wasn't their. I finished packing, and drove home.
As soon as I stepped into the door, all of the memories started flushing back. Rachel, Ben, Christina. All the emotions flood in at once, making my chest hurt. I shut the door, and slid my back down the door frame, trying to hold everything in. Who knew it would be so hard to step back into my house. My house.
Joey's POV
"Hey Analisa, if you get this message, call me back. I've searched everywhere for you for three days. I-I miss you. I love y-" You have reached the maximum time limit left for recording. If you are satisfied with your messa-
"DAMNIT!" I yelled, throwing my phone down. When I was done being frustrated with my phone, I picked up. I guess I never really thought about the fact that she might call back.
"Wait, why is the house so quiet?" I said in my head, looking around.
"Kelly? Kelly?" I yelled throughout the house. I searched around and she wasn't in sight. I stepped into her bedroom and saw a perfectly made-up bed and a cleared dresser.
"Oh no. Oh no. OH NO!" I said panicking. I was gone for three days, and she left. Who knew how long she was gone, and if she'd been in danger. I grabbed my keys, hopped in my car, and headed for her house.
I always felt the sudden need to protect Kelly, even when I was younger. I've always loved her, and I knew she always loved me. But I love Analisa. I have to love her. I can't love Kelly, at least not like I want to.
I banged on the door, almost knocking it down. She opened the door after the second knock, looking surprised to see me.
"Kelly... Oh, thank God you're alright." I said drawing her into a hug.
"I'm fine Joey! I thought there was a cop at the door with the banging that you were doing, scared me for a second!" she replied.
"Would you like to come in?" She said.
"C'mon Kelly, are you crazy? Grab your stuff, we have to go!" I said grabbing her forearm.
"Joey! I'm fine. I want to stay here. I don't want to ruin your relationship with Analisa. I've caused you to lose alot in your life, and i'm done dealing with the guilt." she replied. After she said that, I couldn't help but think about the fight with Analisa, and how I disregarded the fact the Kelly was there. She was right. In my life, time is definitely not in my fortune. I wasn't going to wait any longer.
I stepped into the door frame, and kissed her. She was hesitant at first, but eventually she let go, and kissed me back. I wasn't holding back anymore. Kelly was who I wanted, I longed for her, every second of the day.
"Joey, what are-are you doing?" she said pulling back.
"Kelly, I love you- I've always loved you. I'm tired of holding back my feelings for you. Love is an existence which can never be deterred. My love for you hasn't gotten any weaker since the first day I've met you and I want to show you that, right now"
"No! You're just doing this out of spite of Analisa, like I was with Benard! You don't love me!" She said.
"Were you really doing that out of spite? You really convinced yourself that I don't love you?" I replied. Looking at her reminded me of back then. She still had the most beautiful eyes that could make any man weak to their knees.
After I said that, she didn't reply. Instead, she mumbled over words, trying to come up with some untruthful comeback to what I just said. I shut the door and pushed her into the wall, kissing her furiously. Today was the day that would revive my memories of why Christina existed. It was finally time to make up for the lost time.
Tonight, was going to be... unforgettable.
