"H-how?" She looked up at him placing her hands on each side of his face but not on his face. She was scared to touch him. He nodded as if to tell her it was okay and when she placed them on his face her eyes widened as tears spilled from them. "Baby this...this can't be real."
"Spiritually I'm here mama but that's a story for another time." He walked across the room. "Come over here." He said.
Isabella stood frozen. She didn't know if her mind was playing tricks on her or what. This couldn't have been real. Her husband was here and to see him made so many different emotions wash over her. She'd missed him so much but she'd just started moving on with her life. She was finally able to let him go. Seeing him now only confused her just like he thought it would.
"It's okay Bella. I know shit is scary but just come here baby." He motioned for her to come over. She wiped her eyes and slowly walked towards him with all of the emotions she was feeling written all over her face.
"How?" She stared up at him as he took her by the hands.
"It's not important right now. Right now I wanna make love to my woman." He cupped her face leaning down slipping his tongue deep in her mouth. She closed her eyes moaning softly as she sucked on his tongue. "Can I do that for you like old times?" He whispered pecking her lips.
"Are...are you even able to—"
"You really think you were having wet dreams?" He squinted his eyes.
"That was—"
"Yeah." He chuckled. "Sorry baby."
"Davon what's going on? I'm so confused right now." She placed her hands on each side of her face looking down as he pulled her closer into him by her waist. "I....I don't understand. This isn't real." Her eyes started to water all over again. To be able to kiss him, feel his touch, be able to touch him, and hear his voice hit her so hard that she thought she felt her chest tighten. It was like the walls in the room were caving in on her. Wrapping one arm tightly around her back Davon took his free hand and grabbed her chin making her look up at him.
"I know." He leaned down resting his forehead against hers keeping his arm around her back listening to her sniffles. "I know it doesn't make sense mama but I'll explain it to you real soon. I just need you to know I've always been here. I've seen how good you've been taking care of the girls. I saw how hurt you were losing me. I know that you used to feel guilty because you survived and I didn't. You shouldn't. I'm proud of you and the girls. My babies man."
"Babe I've missed you so much.." She hiccuped as tears slid down her cheeks.
"I know mama. I know. I'm here now though. I ain't going nowhere." He kissed her forehead.
Isabella closed her eyes resting her head against his chest letting out a shaky breath as she exhaled. Davon held her looking up at the ceiling knowing that he'd gone to his grave keeping a heartbreaking secret from her. He'd already hurt her so much in the past before they were married that he couldn't bare to break her heart again. No matter how many times he told himself to just tell her the truth he couldn't bring himself to ever do it. He wasn't the biological father of Fallon and Fiona and he only knew that because he'd secretly gotten a test done. His twin brother Donell that Isabella had never known about had fathered the children Davon had been raising. He had to have a more comprehensive test since he was a twin because a regular DNA test wouldn't tell who'd fathered the child(ren) exactly because the DNA was similar.
Back when Isabella had been battling cancer in her teenage years she'd met Donell who'd introduced himself as Davon shortly after her boyfriend had broken up with her. It hurt her that he'd broken up with her because she couldn't be like "normal" teenagers and get out and party like he liked to do. She was always so sick or laid up in the hospital and he grew tired of stopping his "life" to always be there. It was crazy because days after the breakup she'd received news that she was cancer free. That still didn't stop the hurt of being dumped because she was fighting for her life. She'd met Donell and the two had exchanged numbers one day. They'd talked on the phone all day making plans to go somewhere the next night and just hang out but before that date happened Donell and Davon had made a bet. Donell was the twin who was always finding himself in trouble with authority. He didn't like to attend school, listen to anybody's rules, or look after anybody but himself. He'd only planned to sleep with Isabella and drop her right after their date.
Davon didn't agree with his brother's actions and told him that Isabella looked like a girl who was out of his league. Donell had bet his brother who'd never been in any trouble at all and who had hopes and dreams that he couldn't get her to have sex with him. He teased Davon making him feel like he was the one who wasn't good enough for anything or anyone. Davon wanted to prove him wrong and as a result pretended to be Donell. Donell had taken her out and being as vulnerable as she was Isabella slept with him. The next night Davon had called her asking to see "again" and hang out with her pretending to be Donell and they'd had sex. She never knew she'd had sex with twin brothers. By the time she'd realized she was pregnant Donell and Davon's parents had sent him away and cut all ties with him. They didn't want anything to do with him. Davon had always been the favorite and nobody ever mentioned Donell so Isabella didn't know. It was if he'd been erased from the family.
Davon had been the one who'd fallen for Isabella and had decided to take on the responsible of helping her raise the kids. He hadn't seen Donell since they were teenagers. It wasn't until Davon had died that Donell had finally shown up to attend his brother's funeral but he didn't stay because he didn't want his family to see him. He'd seen Isabella and his daughters there but couldn't approach them because he didn't know if Davon had ever told them about him.
Donell wanted to come around and do the right thing after changing his ways but seeing how torn she was at the funeral he knew if he revealed the truth that would only crush her more and confuse the girls. He didn't know for sure like Davon knew if the girls were his but he wanted to know. He didn't have any other kids and he wanted to step up. He'd been jealous of his brother back then but never wished death on him. Isabella was supposed to have ended up with Donell because that's who she'd met back then. The universe had other plans and she'd ended up with a man who'd move the earth for her. He'd just made a few mistakes like everyone did. That's what made him human.
Isabella sat on the bed just taking in the sight of her husband still unable to believe her own eyes.
"I ain't ever letting you go." He said.
"I don't want you to." She said not realizing how much that meant to him to hear her say that. "Can you really do what you said?"
"What's that sweetheart?" He pulled at his chin hair smirking at her knowing what she was asking about.
"Make love to me." She replied pulling down her top revealing her perky melon shaped breasts.
Davon chuckled taking off his silk long sleeve pajama shirt. As Isabella scanned over his body she felt a throbbing sensation between her legs. She bit her bottom lip and tugged on her nipples. Something Davon always loved watching her do.
"Come here." She moaned softly waiting for him. She pushed her breasts together and he knew that she wanted him to fuck them.
