~Chapter Seven~

And at last I see the light! Writer's block is unblocked!

Mumu: Ahuh... You would only be happy when I told you just to make it up.

Six and Seven waved goodbye to the other Nomes as they followed Reginold.

They followed him in silence until he stopped and pointed to another trapdoor.

"Falling? Again?" Six asked and Seven looked back at her, and smiled, "Just don't make me your human landing pad."

Six smiled, "Fine."

Reginold stood at a crank and started pushing it. Seven stepped back, "After you," he smiled and Six chuckled and jumped down. Seven waved at Reginold's direction, "Thanks again Reg!"

Reginold used his other hand to shoo Seven off, and Seven jumped into another dark vent, and the trapdoor closed with a thud.

Six landed successfully and Seven landed beside her. It was another vent that led straight.

"Well, we go straight," Six said as she walked and Seven followed behind her. There was a metal door infront, it had no lock unlike the last one. The two jumped when it opened and Seven brought Six close near some crates.

The Janitor went in and patted some crates, looking for something, he grabbed some bandages and went out, leaving the door ajar.

Taking the opportunity, Six and Seven ran silently as possible out of the room, and saw another table, there was some crates on it and a vent. The Janitor was rummaging over the table and crates, treating his wound that Six gave him.

Seven held Six's hand and crept closer, "We run into the vent once he leaves," he said and Six nodded. The Janitor was done treating his wound and started walking out. Seven wasn't going to pace out like he did before, he instantly went to climb the table, hearing the door close behind them, he sighed in relief.

"Um, Seven, you can let go of my hand now," Six teased, Seven blushed and instantly let go, "Oh, uh, sorry," he said while scratching the back of his neck.

Six giggled, "It's okay," she said and looked up, "One more vent, let's go," she said and went to climb on the crates. Seven followed behind her, and they finally reached the top.

They entered the vent and kept walking.

After some more vents, dark rooms, and near encounters of the Janitor. Six and Seven crawled under the floorboards of one room. They jumped up and they say the Janitor doing something under the light.

They could hear his footsteps under the floorboards. There was no other way out so Six sighed.

"So, what do we do now?" Seven whisper-asked, Six looked up to the hole above them which lead to the room, Seven shuddered, getting Six's silent message, "Is there any other choices?" He asked hopefully.

Six shook her head, "Nope."

Seven sighed and nodded, "Okay, but on three."

Six nodded.

"One," Seven whispered.

"Two," Six continued.

"Three!" They whispered and jumped out, hopefully as silent as possible. Once they made it on the floor, they looked into the room, another vent.
