One~ A Blast From the Past

I turn into the school parking lot in my VW bug. I love my car. It used to be my mothers, before she married Dan and traded up for a sports car. That was two years ago, though. So, it's old to both her and me.

As quickly as I can, I park my car, and run into the school. It's my first day of my senior year at Swift Stair Public, and I'm late. I overslept this morning. Good on me. Adjusting my bag on my shoulder, I run to my first class. Health.

I burst through the door, silently panting. Usually I couldn't give a damn if I'm late for school but just today I wanted to be early. The class laugh at me. All except two. My very best friends, Jen and Jade. They are twins. Both with brown eyes. They also both have curly blonde hair. The only difference between the two, in terms of looks, of course, is that Jade is tall, while Jen is short. Jen's always giving out about how Jade got all the height and left none for her. They're quite humorous actually.

I glare at the rest of my class, then I look at the teacher. Great, Mr. Paol. The narkiest teacher of them all. He also teaches calculus, which is a subject I will never understand. For that, I am not his most favoured student. He is a middle aged man, with a balding scalp and a chip on his shoulder. Every single day he wear the exact same brown slacks, along with a cream shirt, a green sweater vest and brown shoes.

"Ah, Ms. King, late again this year, I see."

I mumble an apology and make my way to the back of the classroom where my two best friends are currently sat. I drop my brown bag on the floor and land in my seat.

"Now as I was saying, before Ms. King rudely interrupted..." As he turns his back to the board, I flip him the bird. I get a few laughs and giggles around the class but I don't smile. I tune out the sound of Mr. Paol's monotone voice, asking why the class is laughing. I reach down into my bag and pull out a notebook and my pack of pencils. I begin to doodle some designs. Using different greens, I sketch out a drawing of a pretty dress.

"Pss, Sav! Savannah!" I turn towards my two best friends. Jen is the one calling out my name. "Savannah! Look, will you! Look who's at the front of the classroom." Knowing she'll keep pestering me, enough though I don't care, I slowly lift my head up from my drawing and gaze across the room.

My blood runs cold. Well, shit. Lennox fricken Taylor. Teenage music heartthrob. Along with his partner in crime, Cooper Wells. The beautiful, brown haired bastard grins, his emerald green eyes scanning the room. I look back at my drawing, hoping he doesn't remember me. I use my sandy coloured hair to cover my face. Usually I tie it up but this morning I didn't have time. Now that I think about it, it's always down because I never have time.

The girls around the room sigh, bat their eyelashes and smile seductively at the two rock stars standing at the top of the class.

One of the girls, Felicity White, stands. Her strawberry blonde locks are neatly formed into a plait and her cheerleader uniform is pressed and pristine. "Hi, I'm Felicity White. I'm captain of the cheer squad, here at Swift Stair Public. Welcome to our school." She gives both boys a wink and settles back into her seat.

Don't be fooled by Felicity's antics. She may seem nice, but when you really get to know her, you see what I bitch she truly is. I look up at Mr. Paol, wondering why he hasn't yet spoken a word. He looks just as star struck as the rest of the class. I roll my eyes. Next, I look to my two best friends, they look back at me.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry." I look back towards the front row, where Cindy Lawson, AKA probably the nosiest person in the world. She's the editor and reporter, I guess, for the school newspaper. She also happens to take the photographs for the paper too, as well as, being the student council president and Captain of the Chess club. So, really she does everything.
