Erik and I went back to the kitchen where he returned the bottle safely back in the cabinet. Then, without another word he disappeared. It shouldn't have bothered me, but it did. The abrupt ending to our conversation had oddly sobered me up. I realized I had left Jamie with Ivelyn, which was never a good thing. I tried to find them attempting to even call Jamie. Although, that was a total bust. It immediately went to voicemail and it was so loud inside I couldn't leave a voicemail.
Finally, I found Ivelyn. She was talking with a guy (of course,) and flirting excessively. Then, I saw why -- Troy had brought Polly to Ivelyn's party and they were in the same room as Ivelyn. I rolled my eyes and as quickly as my dress would allow, rushed up to her.
"Where's Jamie?" I blurted out. She pretended not to notice me. "Ivelyn!" I snapped. Jamie didn't know anyone here except for my friends. I was worried about him.
"What?" She glared.
"Where is Jamie?" I repeated.
"Oh, I introduced him to some people like him." A smile danced around her mouth.
"What does that mean?" I huffed, feeling myself start to get worked up. I just wanted to make sure Jamie was safe. Technically, he should be extra safe with all of the Witches and Lycans at this party, but it was Salem and no one was ever safe.
"He's with the nerds, Moreau, chill out." Her green eyes were filled with annoyance. I went to say something, maybe tell her how I really felt. Except, I never got the chance. My eyes rolled to the back of my head and I was sucked into a vision. My stomach felt like it was filled with sour milk, the pain snapped me out of the vision just as quickly as it had reeled me in.
"Someone is coming," my words were monotone. When I said this, the guy she had been talking to excused himself.
"Moreau, you are so not about to do this here," I barely heard her words. My mind was being dragged back to the vision. It wasn't pleasant. It took everything in me not to vomit and scream. "Jesus Christ, you are about to do this me. Oh, God!" That was the last thing I heard from reality.
I wasn't in anyone's body, which was the second time this had happened. I wasn't complaining, it made it easier to see things in my visions. The first thing I noticed was how dark it was. My vision was blurred, then focussed finally. I was outside -- it was dark and I could smell the rain, but it wasn't raining yet. I heard something, like thuds against the cold cement. As the noise continued, I looked around. I was in my own body, standing in the middle of the road. I looked around to see if I recognized anything.
Then, I saw where the noise was coming from.
It was a horse-pulled carriage! It looked like it was straight out of the Modern Era. I squinted, there were four black horses pulling a black carriage. It was ominous and as the carriage passed through me (not fun) I shivered. It was a bad feeling. Whoever was inside that carriage, had very bad intentions to wherever they were headed.
My mind tried to process what was happening but came up blank.
I followed the carriage, my feet felt like molasse. It didn't matter how hard I tried to move, my pace was slowed. The carriage was almost out of sight. I followed it with my eyes and watched as it turned onto Hickory Avenue. I knew that street. How did I know that street? The corners of the vision began to fade and before I knew it I was back to standing in front of Ivelyn. She looked worried, but when she saw I was bad she started glaring again.
I rubbed my forehead.
"Thanks for that, you totally just cost me a date with--
"Someone is coming," it sounded familiar as I said it. I had the strangest feeling of deja vu.
