I drove over to doctor Bobby's medical office. I knew how to get there by heart heart, for my dad always took me here when I was sick and I take Dylan here now.

Bobby Horan was a children's pediatrist. He's worked here ever since he moved to New York from Ireland in 1994. He had an ex-wife, Maura, and two sons. One was named Gregory, the youngest of the Horan family. He lived with Bobby. The other one's name I didn't know— he lived with Maura and I've only seen him when I was three, according to my parents. That was before Bobby and Maura got divorced.

I was anxious to start the job. I knew that Bobby and I knew each other and that I knew all the staff there, but I couldn't help it. What if I screw up really bad?

I tried pushing away the thought as the medical center came into view, but it grew even stronger. I found a parking spot easily and parked my car. I slowly walked into the building and looked for the familiar door that was covered in Nemo stickers. When I opened the door I was met by the smell of cleaness and disinfectant. There were a couple of mothers with their children. One of the kids' was coughing, and another sniffling. They were too busy watchinva movie that was on to notice me.

I walked up to the front desk and was greeted by Sarah, one of the receptionists and a lady I've known for as long as I could remember.

"Robin!" she exclaimed. "How've you been, sweetie?"

"I've beak great, Sarah, thanks," I replied. "Um, I'm supposed to be working with you today. Bobby told me I can."

"Oh, that's great! Come, come! Do you need me to remind you of how to do this?" she asked.

"No, I got this," I assured her. I worked here durinf high school, so I didn't really forget much. The reason why I quit was a story for later.

Bobby came out of one of the rooms, following a man with a little boy.

"Daddy, did you see how brave I was?" the little boy said enthusiastically, looking so proud of himself.

"Yes, I did," his father said with a smile.

"Of you were so brave, maybe you deserve a lollipop," I said, taking one from the candy jar and giving it to the little boy.

"Thanks, miss!" he exclaimed, taking the candy from my hand. He was so cute— he could barely reach up to the counter.

"Hi, Robin," Bobby greated me. "It's nice of you to come back on this job."

"You know I love working here. But why did you call me in? Did someone leave?"

"I... fired Alexa. She was being rude to the workers here and parents. Alexa Lander was the reason I quit in my junior year of high school. She was such a bitch, and not only to me

"Why didn't you do that before?" I questioned.

"I guess I was too busy to notice," Bobby said with a shrug? "Who's next?"

"Tucker Jones," Sarah told him.

The boy and his mother followed Bobby to the other room, when suddenly the door to the office opened and in came a troubled looking boy. It was the tattooed blond boy from the diner. What was he doing here?

"Sarah," he said, coming up to the front desk.

"Hi, Niall," she replied with a smile. "Are you okay? You look—"

"Where's my dad?" Niall interrupted.

"He's with a patient right now."

Niall grunted and ran a worried hand through his perfect hair. He saw me out of his perifferal vision and did a doubletake. "Do I know you?" he asked.

"I work at the diner you ate at yesterday," I explained.

"So what are you doing here?" He eyed me suspiciously.

"I work for Bobby."

"Since when do you work for my dad?"

What?

He saw my surprised expression. "What?" Niall asked.

"You're Bobby's older son?" I asked in bewilderment.

"Yes, I am," he announced. "Who are you?" His facial expression was a mix of confusion and annoyance.

"Do you know Derick or Laura White?" I questioned.

"Yeah, I saw Mrs. White the other day. Why? How do you know them?"

"I'm their daughter. I imagine my mom mentioning me a few times."

A moment of silence passed between us, the only sound coming from the TV. Niall then broke it. "So you're Robin?"

So my mother did mention me. What else did she say?

"Yes, I am," I answered.

Just then, Bobby walked out of the room, little Tucker and his mom behind him.

"Niall," Bobby said. "What happened?"

Why did he assume something happened? Niall's next words told me it was just that.

"We need to talk. Now."

"Very well," his dad gave in.

Niall followed him out of the room at a quick pace, looking very anxious.

"Sorry, miss," Sarah said. "The doctor will be with you in a moment." I forgot there was another patient. The woman sat there with her daughter in understanding. "Robin, do me a favor, please. Go and get me the file for Michael Johnson."

I obeyed and went to the file room. It was small with shelves filled with files on every wall. I went through the J section alphabetically. When I found Michael's file I made my way back to the waiting room. But on the way there I heard low voices coming from one of the other rooms. I knew it was none of my business so I decided to keep walking, but I stopped in my tracks when something really caught my attention. I paused at the door and put my ear closer to the door.

"So where's the knife?" I heard Niall ask.

"Go to Zayn," Bobby replied. "He is supposed to have it."

"And what if he doesn't?"

"He does. He's killed plenty of demons with that thing over the past month."

Killed demons? What's this all about?

"Okay, I'll head over to his place," Niall stated. "I'll call you when I get it."

I snapped back into reality and hurried back to the waiting room before someone noticed me.

"What took you so long?" Sarah asked when I came back.

"I dropped a few files and had to put them back," I lied. "Sorry."

No later did Niall appear with Bobby by his side. I tried to hide my surprised and scared expression as Niall passed to exit, but when he glanced at me something told me he knew I heard what I shouldn't have.
