Two days have passed, both you and Alastor haven't left the apartment you both shared. The mornings were spent mostly in silences and your husband just gave you the space you needed, something was off about him but you assumed it was because of what had happened in the theatre that caused him to look at you differently. But one thing bothered you. Why hadn't you been arrested yet?

You pressed your lips into a thin line, looking out the window as you hugged herself and pulled the blanket that Alastor had gotten you as an anniversary gift, he had told you he's got it from Louisiana when he lived there before he moved to New York to pursue his radio host career. Pulling the warm fabric closer to you as you watched as the newspapers boys tried to sell their papers, music playing quietly behind you from the radio. The newspaper, you knew what would be on the front page.. The murder from a couple of days ago, police haven't found any leads and you didn't know why. It wasn't like people didn't know who was in the assigned balcony booth, right? All evidence pointed to you. The string of questions remained in your mind, you just watched as the paperboys yelled for passerby's to get the latest update on the news. You hadn't even heard when the door opened, just zoning out as you replayed the scene of you pushing the man off the ledge.

"My sweet?" Alastor called, stepping around your chair to be in your view and you blinked. "Alastor, when did you get back? I didn't hear you come in.." You admitted quietly as you sat up straighter, the boys shouts getting father to suggest he was leaving to sell papers elsewhere down the street. The radio host smiled, before kneeling down beside you and carefully took your hands that poked out from the blanket and raised them to his face before pressing his lips against your knuckles. "Alastor?" You couldn't help but ask in confusion, feeling somewhat anxious suddenly. "Is something wrong?" "No. Nothing wrong, dearest." The brunette soothed before standing back up and his smile widened. As he brushed his thumb along your hand fondly.

"It's a wonderful day out. We should go out, don't you agree?" Alastor suggested, you shook your head as you tensed back up. "It's not a good idea, what if someone recognizes me-" But the brunette stopped you by he gave your hands a reassuring squeeze. "They won't." Alastor told you with a wider smile as he pulled up to stand up, the blanket slid from your shoulders and fell back onto the bed. Your eyebrows knit in confusion, your husband sounded so sure.

You licked your bottom lip, before nodding slowly. "Okay, I trust you Alastor." The brunette couldn't help but grin widely, "That's the spirit, my dear." He praised and you gave a small smile, nodding slowly but the feeling of doubt lingered. Suddenly you were spun around and your eyes widen, before looking at your lover in confusion. "What on earth, are you doing?" You squeaked. Alastor couldn't help but let out a deep laugh, shaking his head and pulled you against his chest. "The music, (Y/N)." Alastor answered and began to dance with you.

Confusion washed over your face, you knitted your eyebrows before giving a small smile. Listening to your husband hum softly, dancing slowly with you to the beat. You begun to listen to the song he was talking about on the music to get a rhythm but you tilted your head slightly, before laying your head on his shoulder. "We're out of beat." You answered with a mumble. "Haha. No, we aren't, our hearts." Alastor chuckled and your movements begun to slow down, a slow dance if you would. You let out a giggle, your heart fluttering in your chest at how romantic Alastor could be. "You're such a sweet talker."

"Only for you." Alastor answered, you slowly melted into his touch as he spun you around while humming the melody of your heart. You both remained in each other's arm. Your nerves begun to relax, taking full advantage of this moment to selfishly forget about the night in the theatre and focused on the man in front of you. "I love you Alastor." Those words left your mouth quietly, every word was laced with adoration for the radio host. You didn't know what would you do, how things would've been if you hadn't met him but here you were. You felt him press his lips against the top of your head again fondly, he didn't say he loved you often and it didn't bother you too much as his actions said so much more.

Alastor stopped and you glanced up at him, "Thank you." You smiled at him, he smiled back down at you. "Why, of course. There's nothing I rather be doing than spending time my wife." Alastor stated charmingly as he pulled away, you on cue pulled away as well. "Well, are you hungry? I have several recipes from my mom that taste absolutely marvellous!" He grinned, before walking to the kitchen with a bounce in his step and you laughed then gave a small nod. "Yes please, thanks my love."

You followed him as he turned on the oven, sitting behind the counter while hugging yourself. Alastor pulled out the ingredients for whatever he was cooking up now, he continued to hum while you watched him cook and your cheeks warmed up slightly. Just appreciating the fine catch of a husband you had. "Now how do you like it?" Alastor asked while waiting for an answer, and you peeked over his shoulder. "Surprise me." You answered.
