Nakidori Sensaina x Hawks

Part 4

Nakidori sighed lightly, flipping through the pages of a magazine while her day off seemed to endlessly tick on. Usually, she enjoyed these days more, but today just seemed... empty. As if it was lacking something big and important for her to do. She would often have plans for her days off, but none today, which only seemed to make things that much worse as the seconds felt like minutes.

The bird girl sighed, rolling her head back against her couch. Her eyebrows knitting together as she racked her brain for something possibly interesting she could do or find. Instead, she was met with nothing but emptiness in her head.

And this magazine was clearly not holding her interests either. She had been going over it at least three times trying to actually read it but had only been absentmindedly glancing at the words on the page while she was lost in her own bored mindscape.

Nakidori's boredom seemed to disappear for a moment when she heard the sounds of her phone ringing the familiar sound of a text message alert. Instantly, her legs instantly pulling her upwards and towards her device sitting on her dining room table, the girl smiling to herself as she hoped someone might actually be curing her latest problem.

How ironic it was... on her working days, she only wanted the world to be a peaceful and none eventful place, but on the days where it truly did seem like nothing was happening, she felt this urge to do something. As if some part of her knew someone out there was sick and hurt and here she was... not doing anything.

Every hero felt like that at one time or another: the missed opportunities. And despite the urge to work yourself until every person on this planet was saved, everyone knew better. Heroes needed their rest and relaxation as well, and so, despite her feeling to continue saving, Nakidori knew in the long run, this would be much much better.

After all, a tired hero was more likely to mess up than one who was healthy and well-rested. Thus, she had to take it easy today, as who knew what tomorrow would bring.

Her hands grasped her phone gently, bringing it up to her face as she looked at the string of numbers on her lock screen. Nakidori rose a brow, opening her device and deciding to investigate this unusual string of numbers and what they could possibly want from her.

From: 0XX-XXX-XXXX

To: Nakidori

'Is this Phoenix? If so, this is Hawks. If not... this is a prank and not Hawks'

Nakidori smirked lightly, sending her reply right away.

From: Nakidori

To: 0XX-XXX-XXXX

'This might be Phoenix.... But how do I know you're not one of my mortal enemies pretending to be Hawks. Have to be careful nowadays.'

Looks like she found her cure to boredom and it came from the other bird-like hero she had been patiently waiting to text her.

While she could have done so herself at any time and gotten the potential ball rolling sooner, she couldn't bring herself to do so. She had never exactly had any luck with boys before and didn't want to seem desperate to get a meal together again. After all... who knew if Hawks was simply keeping in contact because he was serious about being on good terms with every bird-like hero, or if he had a genuine interest in her.

So... she had like an old century women allowed Hawks to make the first move and had been waiting for it. But now that it was finally here, she wouldn't wait around for him to move the topic or this possible relationship.
