Chapter 10: Save Me

That morning, I awoke as I found myself in a bed. Someone must've put me here after I fell asleep... And then it hit me. Yusei! I practically jumped out of bed as I ran out of the bedroom and into the living room where everyone was.

"Where's Yusei!?" I asked.

"Laying down." Akiza said calmly.

"Martha said he'll be fine, he just needs a little rest, that's all. He's probably awake now of you wanted to go see him."

I nodded and went towards the room. The door was cracked open a little as I knocked before pushing it open only to see Yusei in bed, his lower half of his torso wrapped as he wasn't wearing a shirt, typing on his laptop."Yusei?" I asked, slowly coming closer to the bed as he looked up.

"Glad to see you're up." He said, setting the laptop down as I approached his bedside.

"You idiot..." I nearly wanted to cry, but I held my tears back.

"What?"

"If you had let me do that duel, you wouldn't be hurt like this..."

"No, it was my choice."

I sighed. "Get some rest, you'll need it..."

"Where are you going?"

"Out." I said before leaving the room.

Once I left Yusei's room, I headed for the door, grabbing my deck and shoving it in my pouch. But when I got to the front door, both Jack and Crow were standing in my way as I glared at them angrily.

"Move."

"No." Jack said.

"No?"

"We're not letting you get hurt like Yusei did, Sam." Crow said.

"I made a promise and I intend to keep it, now move it before I move you myself."

"No." They both said.

I growled. I turned and started to walk away as I rounded a corner. When I saw them sit down, I went into a full on sprint, dashing out the door as the two ran after me. I put my helmet on and got on my runner, speeding off as those two raced after me on their runners. I quickly rounded several corners, trying to lose them until I came to the old highway, where Kalin told me to meet him. Sure enough, he was standing there, leaning on his bike with his arms crossed and a wicked smirk plastered across his face as I came to screeching stop.

"So I see you decided to show up after all, huh?"

"I never go back on my word. You've known me long enough, you should know that, Kali boy."

"You know, we could just kiss and make u--"

"--No. Get on your fucking bike, now."

"Ooooh! Feisty! Looks like someone missed me while I was gone."

"In your dreams, maybe. Yusei is hurt all because of you, yeah, I'm gonna be livid with you, especially with what happened back then all those years ago..."

"We could always kiss and--"

"Get on the fucking bike, now. You forget, I grew up all by myself, so you can either duel me or I'll just kick your ass until I'm satisfied. Pick your poison."

"Fine, fine." Kalin put his helmet on and got on his machine before we both took off, Speed World activating.

"Ladies first."

"You'll regret that."

"Duel!"

"Since you insisted, I'm first. Draw! I Summon Black Hole Princess in Attack mode! Next I'll activate her Special Ability. If I have one or more Monsters on the field while you have none, I can Attack you directly, but with only half her Attack Points. Go, Black Hole Slash!"

[LV 3 / ATK 1200 / DEF 800]

"Urgh!"

"I end with a face down."

"You'll regret that, I promise you that much."

"Try me."

As the duel progressed, I was winning with a total of 3200 Life Points while Kalin had 1800. But things turned around when he managed to Summon out his damn Earthbound Immortal.

"This duel is over! I Summon Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu! Now Attack her directly!"

"Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!" My runner spun out as I flew off, rolling as my whole body was scratched up, gaining a few new wounds. I didn't even notice the guys, even Yusei, watching the duel until I saw it on my duel runner screen.

"Sam!!!" They all shouted.

I lifted my hand, placing it on the ground as I tried to push myself up, only to fail as there was an excruciating pain in my side. My hands slipped as I fell back down, looking down to see a shard of metal was lodged in me. I carefully grabbed the piece and yanked if out, throwing it aside. I then searched around as I crawled to my runner, opening the seat to pull out a cloth. Using my teeth, I ripped a thick strip off and tied it around my side before getting up, wobbling. It was then I heard Yusei on the screen.

"Sam, stop! You're too hurt to continue! Just give up!"

"N-no... This is more than just winning... It's about getting an old friend back, n-no matter how m-much of an idiot he is..."

I got on my duel runner and took off, catching up to Kalin. "This duel isn't over yet! I still have 200 Life Points left!"

"Then come at me! Your field is completely empty with no Monsters!"
"But I still have my face downs. And I'll use one now! I activate the Trap card Rope of Life! With if, I can bring one Monster back from my Graveyard you destroyed this turn and the Monster I choose is Star Knight!"

[LV 2 / ATK 300 / DEF 600]

"And now that it's my turn, I Draw. I Summon out Mistress Supernova, in Attack mode!"

[LV 3 / ATK 1800 / DEF 1000]

"But I'm not done, because if I have two Galaxy type Monsters on the field, I can Special Summon Lady Milky Way in Defense mode!"

[LV 3 / ATK 800 / DEF 1600]

"Now I tune Lady Milky Way with Mistress Supernova and Star Knight in order to bring out a new Monster. I Synchro Summon Galaxy Nova Dragon!!"

[LV 8 / ATK 3300 / DEF 2800]

"Now her Special Ability automatically activates! Any Level 8 or above Monster other than Galaxy Nova has zero Attack Points for the remainder of the time she's out on the field."

"What!? You can't do that!"

"I can and I will! Galaxy Nova, use Galaxy Redux and take away Ccapac Apu's Attack Points!"

"Noooo!!!"

"Now Attack with Supernova Explosion!"

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Kalin screamed before we both crashed, his Life Points going to zero.

The force field track disappeared as all the guys ride over to us, Yusei going over to Kalin as he disappeared. Jack and Yusei then went to me as everything went dark.

*Third person*

Yusei ran over to Sam as her eyes were closed. He got down to her level and tried to shake her awake.

"Sam! Wake up, Sam! No! Don't leave me, Sam! Sam!!" It was then that Yusei noticed the blood seeping through a cloth she had tied onto herself and all the blood coming from the other wounds on her body. "Guys, Sam is losing a lot of blood. We have to get her to Martha's, now." The two nodded, taking her runner while Yusei took her on his runner.

(Hold on, Sam, I'm not gonna let you die, not like this...)

Suddenly, Yusei saw red glowing as he looked down. His eyes went wide as he gasped. There on Sam's arm was a glowing red mark. She was the fifth Signer! The glowing faded as the mark appeared on her arm like a tattoo.

"She's the one. She's the fifth Signer." He said to himself.
