Sixth Week of Second Semester

“I met her during the first summer I was back here in the Philippines,” Sean narrated. He was telling Rose and I his love story with Antheia. “It was at a Math Summer Camp. We were seatmates and after a few weeks, we kept talking with the rest of the gang. After the summer camp ended, the gang still went out together, and that’s when I started to like her. We went to different schools, so that was the difficult part for me because if I did ask her during summer, it might take us a hard time to cope with a relationship, so it took me a while to ask her to be my girlfriend which I did on my birthday.”

“That seems more like a threat to me. ‘Be mine or this is gonna be the worst birthday ever.’” Rose mocked and he laughed.

“Wait, your birthday is in January, isn’t it?” I asked.

“Yep.”

“Woah, you courted her for seven months?” I asked in a surprised manner.

“Eight months,” he corrected. “I was determined. It’s not only you girls who know when a guy likes them, guys have the same gut feeling too. I knew she liked me back even if we didn’t tell it to each other.

“Dayuuum,” Rose commented.

“Marc could’ve sensed that you like him back a long time ago,” he smiled in a teasing manner.

“Oh shut up.” He laughed that evil laugh of his. “Now proceed with your story telling.”

He scooted closer, “But here’s the catch, she was Chinese.”

“Ahh, the thing you told me,” I said. "And she didn't tell you she had a fiancé?"

"Nope."

"Ouch." Rose said.

"You can say that again," he sighed. "But again, she looks happy with him now."

"And you?" I asked.

"I'm fine. We're friends already but I didn't bother to keep in contact, he might mistaken it for the wrong thing especially that I'm single." He said as he leaned back.

"Speaking of being single, have you got your eyes on someone?" I asked, with a little hidden message to it, probably only Rosalie could understand.

He smiled without looking at us. "Yeah. But I won't give you guys a clue because you know her. She's from your school when you were in high school."

"At least describe to us how she is like," I insisted. I haven't seen how Antheia looked like. I didn't know what a guy like him wanted in a girl.

"Well," he started, "She likes her books, she listens keenly when one talks, she's very thoughtful and she remembers even the tiniest details. But the thing I like most about her is that she's very observant. She sees right through you. She can sense what you're feeling even if you try to hide it. And she's sensitive to how others feel. She makes sure others are comfortable. She has the motherly kind of vibe, but at the same, one a sister has. She has a potential of being an independent woman which makes her more challenging yet still very enticing."

"Woah, you made sure we couldn't identify her at all." We all laughed.

"You must really like her," Rose said, "'cause you take note of the little details about her."

"Yeah. I do."

"You should tell us!" Rose replied. "We could totally help you out with her."

"I'll tell you when the right time comes."
