Eighth Week of Second Semester
(January 17, 11:00 PM - Philippines | January 17, 10:00 AM - Chicago)

"He's asleep right now dear. I let him drink some meds for his headache that would make him drowsy. It took some time before it settled in." Aunt Bridgette said over Skype.

And here I thought that the next Skype call would have Marc's face on screen. I didn't expect to be Skyping with his mom one on one. "That's good news. Did he vomit?"

"Unfortunately, he did." Aunt said, rubbing her forehead with her fingers. I sighed in frustration. "I"m really sorry for his behavior, sweetie."

"I should be the one apologizing Auntie. I should have kept in touch."

"Oh no, sweetie. That should not be your priority. Marc knows how to take care of himself and you have things to do for school. Marc should have been more aware of his actions." Aunt Bridgette got teary-eyed and started inhaling sharply. "I'm so sorry."

Sinulog Day
(January 18, 5:00 AM - Philippines | January 17, 4:00 PM - Chicago)

"Athena?"

"Mhhhh," I groaned.

"Wakey wakey," Rosalie said in her sweetest tone. "Come on. You were the one who told us that we'd still go for our morning jog despite sleeping late."

Rosalie and Sean ended up sleeping over last night. Luckily, mom got them clothes to wear for pajamas last night. Rose can just borrow from my closet, I don't know how Sean got his, probably from my brother-in-law.

"Okay. Just give me a minute to stretch," I said before I started reaching up. I heard Rose hitting Sean with a pillow.

"Get up knuckle head, we have to jog." I laughed softly at how Rose woke Sean in a completely different manner than she did with me.

I saw a pillow shoot back up at her. "Good morning to you too." Sean said from below.

God these two can cheer up my morning.

Sean sat up and stretched. "Oh look, lady Athena's awake," he came closer and with the cutest smile, he greeted. "Good morning, Thene."

"If you weren't my best friends, I would have been shipping you guys." Rose said while fixing her side of the bed.

Sean poked her waist, and she squealed. "Watch it. Thene is very much taken. Although, yeah, we'd be a power couple if we weren't bestfriends."

I giggled.

Sean turned to me. "Are you feeling better? Heart's lighter, mind's clearer?"

I nodded. In reality, I wasn't.

Rosalie knew it took me quite some time to really get off of bed, so she went to the bathroom to wash her face and get changed. While I was still trying to instruct my body to get up, Sean lay down beside me. "You know we don't have to go go to the city center, we could always stay here with Rose, watch movies, and eat all day. You don't have to force yourself"

"I want to go, " I insisted. "It could help me keep my thoughts away from Marc. Plus, I've booked this weekend for you guys. I won't let a guy ruin this."

Sean looked at me with concern. "Alright. If you insist. Just don't force yourself, okay?"

I nodded.

The day passed in a blur. If you think I went to the Sinulog Rave thing, no I didn't. We went to the city center to watch the street dances, floats and street stores. THE WHOLE DAY. The whole city is full with people, it's really hard for one to get through the crowd. It was even harder for us to find a decent place to rest our bums and feet. We bought lots of random stuff, like festive hats, and festive accessories. Sean got Rose an achor charmed choker, and he got me an all-white anklet that held a tiki charm. We ate lunch at Rose's Aunt's place, which we had to walk to, and went back to the Circle to look at other stores we haven't went to. In total, the day was fun, hot, tiresome but again, fun.
